If you have itemized deductions greater than the standard deduction you can absolutely deduct state taxes and real estate taxes on your federal return.
Thanks for the correction on this. When I did my tax returns on my own I used the standard deduction and that wasn't a deduction. Now I just use turbo tax and it just spits it out for me and I don't pay a whole ton of attention on everything that goes into the itemized deductions.

At the risk of further insults, I bet several people here would be surprised to find out that I am actually an accountant, performing forensic accounting work. There is just absolutely 0 need for me to know anything about taxes. My coworkers and I laugh about how come tax season, our family and friends just assume we can do their taxes for them, our response is always "ummmm....use Turbo Tax" haha

Beers brewed in NYC

I second this! Brooklyn Brewery, Bronx Brewery, Coney Island Brewery, and (even though it's located in westchester) Captain Lawerence all have fantastic beers.

I also want Bottoms up dispensers in our SSS, it would crush half time lines

EDIT: also hopefully we have beers that aren't $9 and up. I don't hold out much hope, but a man can dream

Maybe it's all the drinking I did tonight, but I really would love to see an accountants brawl break out at one of the bars on River Avenue next Sunday. Someone with a few drinks too many starts mentioning how governments use property taxes versus income tax or what's deductible and all the sudden bottles and fists start flying, tie clips get unhinged and pocket protectors get ripped off.

No need to check with lawyers -- there's a special site out there that has answers to many questions:

I didn't say anything about lawyers. I said accountants. Accountants have accepted standards that they respect. Lawyers are fucking blood suckers who have written themselves into every aspect of society under the idea that they are protecting use from other lawyers. I'm a old school Italian, I totally understand the term "Protection"

Like this (wait for it ...)

So lets talk food for SSS.

Should NYCFC give priority to small businnesses (like Citi Field and Cascarios Pizza) or give priority to large chains (YS and Papa Johns)

Personally i think it should give priority to small businesses. Its just a better awsthetic.

Just to add: i wanna see a heartland brewery in the stadium (like YS and Hard Rock Cafe). It would be cool
Love the idea of small businesses! But would prefer Brooklyn Brewery instead of Heartland. They can make a special brand just for the team.

Day 843: still nothing.

But you can deduct your state taxes (unless in amt) and NYC makes awesome beers!! Anything to keep this thread going, soon we will have to rename it as "Sh*t we are talking about because we are too depressed there is no stadium news"

Continuing on the beer theme, there is a beer festival in Sept/Oct that only has NY brewed beers (I think it is called the NY local beer festival). There is a lot of NYC beer beyond Brooklyn Brewery...

There is even a Third Rail brewing Co.

The City has no place demanding that public housing or schools be part of any new development. Those are what the city is supposed to provide with the taxes they collect.
The real problem in NYC is that you don't pay any taxes. In Westchester or Long Island a house worth $4,000,000 might pay $100,000 in school and property taxes. In NYC a $4,000,000 house may pay $20,000. You get what you pay for. I feel the Bern. In the suburbs the rich pay.
That's what socialism or communism get you when u live in a big community... Living in suburb avoids some of these resource pooling /sharing/ redistribution dilemma

That's all going to be controlled by Legends, which is the hospitality company started by the Yankees and Cowboys and now does all the top sporting teams around the world.
This really sucks. It sounds like it must be what is in store. (Case in point, the brand new YS food selection is HORRIBLE.) I can only hope that this somehow changes. It is shameful how much better this issue makes the fan experience at Citi vs YS.

The only decent food is brother Jimmys BBQ and the cheese steaks. Nathan's is a heart attack prepper.
