Crew Postmatch

I just fast forwarded through the telecast after getting home (dork alert!), and if you weren't watching on television, you have to watch and see PV's reactions after the last 3 goals. Love that guy.

We didn't look great but we got the job done. My favorite goal was Shelton's, but the interplay between Villa and Frank on the last goal was awesome too. If Villa had scored the one that went off both posts it would have been amazing.

Highlight of the game was high-fiving Goodfella in the concourse after the first goal.

It's hard to tell just how well it worked, or how Eirik played with the ball at his feet though, given that Columbus didn't press us at all.
This.

At 75 minutes we were tied 1-1. Fantastic end, but we would be screaming if the last 15 hadn't gone the way it had.

CLB didn't press. And they are CLB!

I'm not saying we shouldn't be happy as can be right now. I'm celebrating and enjoying it. But I am also reserving judgement about the effectiveness of Lurch, our backline and our system until we see how they do against real competition.

Can't wait until next Sunday.

Not to nitpick but what happened to the tifo?

One thing you can't dismiss based on the aforementioned points is how Lurch positioned himself to stop the obvious shots. It was night and day how much better he was at knowing where the danger would come from and getting there

I realize, it was a low bar. But he looked like an actual professional keeper. First time I've ever seen that from our team.

PV made a rod for his own back. Again, it's why he should have done it way earlier if he were going to ever do it.

Making the playoffs and all is great. But I still don't get why they took away salted nuts. Someone give me the YS number to text. It's unamerican, inhuman and an affront to good taste to not offer a fucking salted nut anywhere in the stadium.

Salted and unsalted nuts were available in legends.

Awesome way to finish the regular season! What more need to be said about Frank?

Big thanks to N northernburbs for the unexpected beer. All of a sudden I heard a guy calling my name out in my section and after a bit of confusion he found me - had no idea he was making good on a beer from friendly jest, so a big thanks to you sir!

Cheers and great win tonight

Mea culpa! My seatmate on the Third Rail board informed me that the call for paint volunteers was actually for a tifo in the works for the home playoff, not tonight. (Still, I don't know why they couldn't have done one of the smaller row-sized ones, at least.)

Today was a very dirty game and the ref missed a lot of calls.

- Iraola got wrecked, the foul was called on Columbus but no card.
- A Columbus player shoved themselves into Villa's chest putting him on the floor, something you would see in the NFL, no foul, and no card.
- And Chanot's yellow card is absolute bullshit. Gravity pushes him over the Columbus player. And it was face to boot, not boot to face.
