Orlando Postmatch

The last two years, we'd have lost that game because of shitty goalkeeping. The Milkman made a couple of key saves and clearances that Slosh would have 100% flubbed. I love the new guys Ring, Maxi, Hererra, Callens, and Chanot (token new guy), and think they've all had a massive contribution to the team, but Johnson has been an amazingly quiet contributor in that he makes saves look routine. I was so wrong preseason thinking we should give Lurch his shot - Johnson was an all star that had been stuck on a shit team for too long, and he just needed a new environment. Damn we pulled a coup getting him.
Honestly, I would put him in top 3 American keepers right now. Horvath, Howard, Johnson for me. Not necessarily in that order.

I don't think generalizations can be made about Lopez abilities after one game against Orlando, who are a VERY opportunistic team. Lopez did not have to face a determined midfield. He was only passable tonight because they were skipping over him on the buildup unless he was completely unmarked. He was standing wide open many times with his hands up and they would rather pass through danger than pass to him.

We survived a Lopez start. I don't want to see him get another one. Especially, not against Atlanta in Atlanta. Where the fuck is James Sands?
What is your proposed solution, limiting yourself to people who can actually play for us? We can't play Ucubed in midfield. I said this like a year ago. Stertzer? Maybe. But Lopez just isn't such a sore thumb when we don't have Pirlo out there.

Make no mistake, he's absolute garbage. But what he brings is more needed than any minuscule incremental attacking gain someone else might add.

End times are-a-coming.

Hamid is still a great shot stopper.

I want to view Lewis as our version of Herrera or Patrick Roberts. We went out and got him this year. We knew he wouldn't play anytime soon. But we paid the money now for a future point in time when he can be a game breaker. That's my hope. We'll find out

So is Jason Davis now the main hold out of traditional MLS media that don't rate us? I haven't really heard him say much (good or bad) about us when I catch his radio show in the car but I did see he had us at 7 in his power rankings last week whereas almost everyone else had us at 3 or 4.

What a snowflake.

We DOMINATED that match. If Kreis really couldn't see how we dominated them, then he's a dumber coach than we all thought.

The only team that's matched our ability this season was Dallas.

Kreis says the teams were even in this game based on close possession stats and we barely outshot them 12-10. Both true.
But he also complains that Vieira says we were better in the first two games. Let's check those same stats.

Game 1 NYC possession 68.4%. We outshot them 14-7, and by 7-1 on target.
Game 2 NYC Possession 62.2%. We outshot them 14-9, and by 8-3 on target.
So Jason, which is it. Do those stats matter or not?

And we thought Jesse Marsch was a crybaby...

His Interview: https://www.orlandocitysc.com/post/2017/05/21/kreis-we-need-continue-believe?autoplay=true

Start at 2:50: "Let me guess, he said that they were the better team...Oh...Again..." Sore & Smug

Earlier than that, "I'm not going to stand here and say anything crass or disrespectful as if we were the better team tonight, because we weren't. ..."

Just a really weird quote from him. I don't think Patrick saying his team deserved more out of those other two games is crass or disrespectful ... and coming from the most crass and arrogant organization in the league, it's quite the comment to make.

He has played. And he's looked timid and not nearly physical enough.

I like him. I want him to get minutes. But you're suggesting things like moving Wallace to accommodate him.

This isn't a charity league. It's first division professional football.
Agree there I still think he can be first one of the bench

Ucubed is Thomas MacNamara. Useless Unless Unmarked.

and I think you are right about Lewis. From what we've seen, he's not physically ready. The talent is there, I think. He's so much better than Khiry was, but the team was worse then and Khiry's size alone allowed him to occasionally contribute despite his generally poor technical ability and tactical understanding.

Right now, with Maxi, Wallace, Villa and to a slightly lesser extent Harrison, we have the best attacking movement in the league. And that's by a long shot. When you replace any of those guys, it changes so much more than just relative player v. player quality.
Loan could be good but I still think he would be better than tommy and camargo
