NYCFC Confirm Departure of PV. Nice Confirm Arrival of PV as Manager.

lol....so all a ruse to get new deal...AND potentially keep Reyna, who i had no idea was about to leave. Maybe PV wanted to keep reyna around. The media/ FO bought it

If PV flew to France to put more gas on the France rumors just to get a stronger bargaining position to up his contract with CFG, without actually talking to clubs in France? That is a next level power move.

Claudio should take the USSF job if the job is what all the candidates agreed it should be. Sounds like Cordeiro has walked that back some but he is uniquely qualified to lead the men's team in that manner.

That is a triple bank shot... and a damn risky one. But if it were true... wow.

If you are a coach, your duty is to put your team in position to win it's next game regardless of the truth of the situation. PV saying that he is peacing out to Nice hurts us until he leaves.

For those that can't watch the video at the moment, a French reporter says that there have been lots of negotiations confirmed by Nice, and that Nice officials were here and met with Patrick within the last couple weeks.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is more evidence of a swoop in by CFG to retain PV, for example Patrick meets with Nice, even goes to France to keep talks going...then CFG (maybe even Mubarak) comes in and says “Patrick, I get you want the job, but here’s our plan for you with us” - and basically lays out the plan for him to take over for Pep, as well as giving him a blank check/choice of jobs within CFG when this contract ends.

Then CFG says, ok? In order to do this, you come out and shut down any of this Nice talk. Keyser Soze it. You’re with us.

This is a valid point, but I think I still agree with Keith Putnam Keith Putnam in that it's terribly difficult to follow it up. Zidane just happens to be an exception to that.
It's not a bad counterexample; they're both legendary players.

Of course, Zidane was a legend for the club he was hired to manage, in a club culture of "galacticos", and PV wasn't quite legendary *at* City, so it's not a direct parallel.

So did they promise to park him at Girona next year?

I’m making things up, but it would be interesting to see that.

I think he definitely got a new promise. Just wondering what it is.

We’re going to make a PDL just for you to sent Jonathan Lewis to. Here’s a map of the continguous United States, pick a place.

Also expect it to be a lot quieter today as no media at training. So unless there’s an announcement or a leak, I’m hoping it’s a slow news day.
