I know we are on here and I know this thread is going to get trolled, but i figure, what the hell?
Calling all City fans! I wanted to start a thread to discuss some of the things that have been happening in the CLOSE season and get your thoughts on them.

What do you think of Fernando ? Can you think of any songs to welcome him

Thoughts on the Zuculini signing... Is he a better prospect than Luke Shaw

Thoughts on the Zabba v Sagna fight for the RB slot, how will they rotate ?

Thoughts on Yaya possibly leaving?

Should we sell Rodwell, or merely loan him out for the season. I think Leeds would be a good arena for him to play.

We are limited to 50 mil Euro spending with about 35 mil left plus any sales revenue. Who do you think we should buy / sell.

Thoughts on the tie up with the local council to provide social housing for the area.

I do not think I missed anything else, but if I did, please share.

Fernando
Obviously the ABBA song immediately springs to mind.

Zuchilini
I know little to nothing about him, but from what I have heard he's a good signing.
What is also of interest is that FFP has created a unintended effect - clubs sign as many cheap players as possible and then loan them out all over Europe, effectively paying for them. The best come back home, the rest are sold for profit.

Zabba v Sagna
Excellent cover for Zabba. He can't do it all himself, although he sure as hell did his best last season.

Yaya
Had enough of the bollocks. He'd command a good fee, and whilst he is (technically) irreplaceable, I've really had enough. All he had to do is release a statement, and he hasn't.

Rodwell
Wish he had featured more, but fear it is already the end of the road for him.

£50m
There is some confusion as to whether this is the full figure or the amortised figure; there is a massive difference between the two. Regardless, we will have no problems.

Council/private housing
This is literally just the beginning. In 20 years even locals won't recognise East Manchester.

1. Can you hear the "Bells" Fernando etc (reference to the Colin Bell stand at City)
1a) When you score a goal Fernando ... Etc

2. £1.5 mil v £30 mil.... I think we got the better deal. Beats looking over your shoulder at FFP.

3. We have had no cover for Zabba for so long I think Sagna will give him a little rest before the big games where we need his energy

4. At his age we wont get the 50 - 60 million he is worth, but might achieve 25 - 30 million. I would try to keep him but if he is going to cause unrest in the dressing room, ship him out and add the money to the warchest.

5. Sell him, he is not good enough but he can still save his career (if he is ever fit)

6. Depends on whether we have to sell Yaya... however I would seriously look for a DM that can also play CB... I am a big advocate of Roman Neustädter from Schalke 04.

7. Do we allow United fans to rent them then laugh when they sing songs about City and the Council House, or being near the ground do we make the tenants sign there allegiance to City a bit like the oath that immigrants to the US have to take.

Just my thoughts on zuculini/shaw....
I think short term shaw will look the better prospect, purely because he's going to walk straight into the team, whereas zuculini is going to have to fight for a place against some of the best talent in the world(not going to be easy).City obviously think he is capable which says a lot in itself.
Shaw could backfire on the rags, the fee and the pressure they will be putting on an 18 year olds shoulders could prove too much for him....just my opinion.

I think Zuculini is an absolute steal, if he makes it fantastic, if not its almost guaranteed profit. I think he will make it (especially if Yaya goes walkabout)
I seriously hope you are right about Shaw.

Zuculini is going straight on loan to Villarreal, which is a good move should he be getting first team football.

Wasn't aware he was going straight out on loan, do we have the option to bring him back if cover requires it ?

Missed something.... Do you think City will finish above United this year

It is claimed that United are about to raid Arsenal for Thomas Vermaelen, who is Vinnies international partner.

The value is about £11 million. Would this be good value for City, a good partner for Vinny, is there value in trying to hijack the move ?

He did have a bad time last season, but is proven Premiership quality, would he be the man to partner Vinnie.

Surely NYCFC can do better? Wright is a good keeper, but he's either 3rd-keeper-at-City or maybe 2nd-keeper-at-NYCFC material. I don't think he's right for being a first keeper in NYC. I'm not sure what any of the interested parties would stand to gain from the bargain.

Backup keepers, by and large, are ten a penny.

I take it you have never played in goal then ;)

I am just curious why we are comparing Bruno Zuculini (primarily midfielder) with Luke Shaw (primarily left back)? As young prospects available on the market this summer?

Value for money !

Ahh, well then, I would have to say the jury will be out on that debate for quite some time. I hope we have won out, though, not least because I would hate to see the first decent English leftback since Ashley Cole's two year stint in the National Theatre playing in red.

So I'm a Roma fan and all I've been reading is Benatia is heading to City. But now today there are reports that City had their bid for Mangala accepted from Porto. So I'm curious what you guys are hearing at your end regarding Benatia?
