You mean you have a real life outside the forums? How dare you!

Unless I am missing something, we only have 19 guys available for Sunday, and 3 of those are goalkeepers.

Our 18 is set. The question is who makes the 11.

I'd like to see:

Wallace-Villa-Shelton
Maxi
Mikey-Herrera
Sweat-Callens-Brillant-White (Edit-Allen)

I thought against LA we should have started Pirlo with Maxi out. But I don't think the two of them work together as they both try to come back and receive the ball. With Ring out, we need some more defensive bite in the midfield, so throw Mikey in there (though I'm really not happy about it).

I'd like to see Jack get a bit of rest, and I wouldn't be surprised to see PV have Lewis on the bench as well. Remember after his good showing against Philly that he didn't play him for a while. Rodney looked good against LA, the question remains if he's fit enough to start, if not, I'd see Lewis in at LW.

White is suspended.

Saving guys and resting guys is the wrong move generally, and it is especially the wrong move when we are missing 2 starters due to suspension and 2 more for injuries.

This is the same team that came into Yankee Stadium a few weeks ago and left with a draw. We need to take them seriously and get 3 points.
Resting players as a preventative measure is almost never the way to go (RSL), but we're well past that and into triage. As I have been saying, and NYCFCfan confirmed PV alluded to, is that Jack needs a rest - very likely because of the Chicago match; it's already been confirmed prior to LA that Maxi hadn't fully recovered from Chicago, hence he didn't even travel with the team.

We all wanna see the best team out there, but if the physiology of a player is taxed beyond a certain point, they are not recovering back to 100%, or even close to it, anytime during the season. They need a full rest and a new round of basetraining fitness - the off season. Continuous play from Jack is going to produce diminishing returns, and that's detrimental heading into the playoffs.

To those saying, save these guys for the RedBull match - is te RedBull match worth more points than the Revolution match?

I totally agree. Our objective is the MLS Cup, not the Moral Victories Over the RB Cup. We need to finish 2nd and get the first round bye. We have to make sure to get 3 points at home vs NE and pray Chicago losses. Nothing else matters. We cannot allow another RSL fiasco for no good reason.

no but my strategy for resting/not starting certain normal starters is a matter of trying to get 6 points instead of 3 or 4.

I don't agree that we are at a crisis mode - other than in having too many players hurt and suspended. I also don't agree that Jack's issues are due to being tired. I do acknowledge that the team in general has been through the grinder the last few weeks, but that's true of all the teams.

There is a short break after the game in New Jersey. Give them a few days then.

Assuming Toronto wins the East, finishing 2nd also gets you in CCL as Toronto is 1) Canadian and 2) qualified through the Canada Cup
