If so, how? They have an embed code, which probably works with standard HTML but not here. I tried both the regular form and bbcode and it didn't work. My guess is it isn't possible, which is fine, but I wanted to check.

No by everything I can determine. There doesn't seem to be compatibility between ooyala video and this kind of message board at this point whether through the media function or straight HTML.

Most message boards or just about every message board doesn't allow HTML embeds because then you're opening the forum to any HTML code as well which could open it up to hackers. Our first time using the chat box someone used a code to fish passwords. If you clicked what they posted it prompted a password in a pop up.
Which is why most video embeds are done via Bbcode which is embedded into forum software.

I remember that, one of the swiftest bannings in forums history.

Now I'm curious, who was it?

I don't have the experience with XenForo that I have with vB and phpBB but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasnt a custom bbcode plugin that could be configured to do this.

FWIW I tried some sites that have tools to take HTML and convert it to BBcode and they not only failed but were completely flummoxed by the MLS site HTML embed codes. They didn't even recognize it as html and just refused to spit anything out.

All the embed code is an iframe. Iframes for the reason Dan stated concerning HTML injection aren't supported by BBCode. You would have to create a unique addition to BBCode to get it to work.
