NYCFC House

Well, Jon Levine, Yankees President showed up...
Well I can't say much about Mr Jon Levine . I'm just shocked someone else showed up and was acknowledged by the clubs President !! But I guess when one has 2 crying twins at home it's good to get out the house !!

What?

Got back from the Chalk Talk with Vieira. They should post a video of it as it was recorded but here are my takeaways that effect us as NYCFC fans.

- Who is the toughest player on the team (someone to be in the trenches with Vieira)? Yangel Herrera.
- Will we keep Yangel? That is a conversation already being had with Claudio in terms of keeping our best players.
- In a joking manner Vieira said that the transfer window isn't closed, acknowledging that players without contract can be signed. He confirmed that Tom Thorpe is no longer on trial with the club. A fan asked whether that Slovak player (I think that's his national) was signed. Patrick said, "Who? Who?" I guess that's the best way to say they don't comment on football rumors in a public forum with fans.

He spoke a lot about his time as a player and there were a lot of Arsenal fans in attendance so a lot of the fan questions were geared towards that.

I asked him after it we would have 18 for Wednesday. He said it will be difficult.

Had an awesome time at the NYCFC House today! Got there early, sat in one of the cushy logo seats and watched the Spain/Italy match. The place is adorable. Patrick Vieira's talk was great. He was funny and touching and discussed a wide array of topics from his playing days to the challenges of being a coach. (See LionNYC LionNYC's post above for more.) He stayed afterwards so everyone could get merch signed and take pics. He even kicked a soccer ball around with a little boy. (A huge THANK YOU to TabascoDiva for gifting me her Vieira bobblehead which I got signed. She had no idea I really wanted one and was amused that I was way more excited over that than a Barca poster she also had for me. :tearsofjoy:) It was great chatting with the other supporters and I made a new friend. Looking forward to going back!

wish they put slides somewhere for us to read....but i guess it got some team sensitive info that may have only been shown live.

The slides are really bad. I saw them from the video. It's just some text, the stats from the 1-0 loss at Orlando and an explanation of what Expected Goals is and isn't. That's it.

I was there. They weren't beautiful, and there were spelling mistakes, but it was a pretty solid talk with a decent amount of depth. Really detailed answers to questions from the audience, too.
