I fucking love this quote...

“If its Red Bulls, if its Toronto, I don’t really care because at the end of the day we have to play the team that comes in front of us. if want to win, we have to destroy them and that’s how it is,” Ring said. “Of course, it would probably be something special in the playoffs. I understand that from your guys point of view and the fans, but for me I really don’t care. I came here to win and whoever stands in the way has to go.”

I hope Ring plays as many years for NYCFC as possible and retires in NYCFC blue. We need our first club blue collar, 6+ year starting 11 fixture and I can't think of anyone better than Ring to be that player. With Chanot as a close second only because he's a few years older.

So Ring had two pretty great free kicks scoring one of them. Shocked to see they didn't leave the stadium.
Ring is quite good on free kick delivery - he's served up the assist to Sweat vs RB and he's had a few other balls that should have been buried. I think it's when he has to shoot during the run of play that it all goes to hell for him, but his mid-range crosses from dead balls are usually pretty accurate.

but how come when he thinks about shooting for us he borderline gives throw ins?
He loses control when going forward. More of a lateral movement kinda guy. Which is a horribly specific comment to make, but it matters.

Ring didn't play in the Kosovo vs. Finland game. Obviously because of an injury he got in the Iceland encounter.

"Ringostar" hasn't been named in Finland's team for the WC qualifiers vs. Croatia and Turkey. Interesting to see whether he'll play for NYCFC during the same period. Apparently he's still carrying the toe injury, but how bad it is, I think only the club doctor and himself might know.

calling him "Ringostar" is an insult - Ringo is a crap drummer - however I would still welcome him to attend a game in the supporter's section

That's a little unfair. Ringo's not one of the drum greats but he can definitely play. I've seen him live a time or two a number of years ago (with Todd Rundgren, oddly enough) and the guy can play. I mean, he's no Carl Palmer of course (saw *him* live a few weeks ago, also with Todd Rundgren, oddly enough) but he's actually a darn good drummer.
