According to the Finland head coach, he didn't pick Ring because he cannot train, but just plays with pain killers. If true, it's quite worrying for both the player and NYCFC.

Jeez. Good thing he's got a two week break then. Put him and Villa in bubble wrap.

Based off Ring's Instagram story yesterday, he seemed to be enjoying a mini-vaca out in the Hamptons. Out East with friends and family, my only gripe is him going with a Corona as a vacation beer. The man played in Germany for a few years, he should know/desire better beers than that.

Maybe the corona was to rehydrate?

Interesting stuff. Oddly, a softer turf is usually better for soccer since the ball doesn't bounce so high - more like regular grass that way. I guess it can also raise issues with feet getting caught, which is the concern.

Jesus, with all that fucking work, just go with grass for crying out loud.

Ref does a walkthrough before the game , but NE has played multiple home games since the turf change so I doubt anything different will happen with our game.
My big concern is that because they are still working on it they might make some adjustments before this game which will be untested. Hopefully I'm more worried about this than I should be. But I would hate to lose a key player in the second to last game

New England Revolution v New York City FC
Gillette Stadium (5:00PM ET)
REF: NIMA SAGHAFI
AR1: Corey Parker
AR2: Claudiu Badea
4TH: Jorge Gonzalez
VAR: David Barrie

Saghafi has not refereed a match for NYCFC in the either 2017 or 2016. He did however referee our match in the Desert Diamond Cup where David Villa was sent off with a red card after consultation with video replay for a love tap on AJ DeLaGarza.

At least a new surface will take away any home field advantage familiarity.

We should be very very happy. Mata and Yangel look like they'll be 100% and in form for our playoff run. Add in a rested squad with meaningful minutes from players returning from injury, we should really have a good shot at winning our last two. Missing Maxi will be rough, but we should have 9 of 11 of our best XI Sunday.

I know club and country are separate. But I don't even care about this game as of today.
Nah, I need something good to happen in the sports world. But I’m just waiting for PV to drop the hammer on my neck with an asinine lineup decision, so there will be copious amounts of scotch on hand to numb the insanity.
