Here is a list of our scheduled games and potential playoff dates and the related potential MLB Playoff conflicts.

Sunday, Oct 22: Home vs. Columbus
- ALCS Games 6 and 7 are Oct 20 and 21 (Yankees would only host if win AL East and have better record than opponent)
- WS Game 1 is Oct 24 (Yankees host if they have better regular season record than NL opponent)

Wed/Thur, Oct 25/26: First Round Knockout Game (NYC only hosts if finish 3rd or 4th in East)
- WS Games 1 & 2 are Oct 24 & 25 (Yankees host if have better regular season record than NL opponent)
- WS Games 3, 4 & 5 are Oct 27, 28 & 29 (Yankees host if have worse regular season record than NL opponent)

Mon/Tue, Oct 30/31: Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 1 (NYC only hosts if finish 3rd or 4th in East)
- WS Games 4 & 5 are Oct 28 & 29 (Yankees host if have worse regular season record than NL opponent)
- WS Games 6 & 7 are Oct 31 & Nov 1 (Yankees host if have better regular season record than NL opponent)

Sun, Nov 5: Eastern Conference Semifinals, Game 2 (NYC hosts if finish 1st or 2nd in East)
- WS Game 7 is Nov 1, so no conflict unless substantial delay

Thanks Gotham Gator Gotham Gator for laying out the scenarios. Columbus seems pretty safe.

This better not happen - moving a regular season game is awful but moving one of your key home playoff games would be a disaster of epic proportions - imagine if they get booted out of their stadium for a win or go home knockout round game? Yikes.

Thought this thread deserves a bump given where things now stand.

Worth adding a note regarding the new date for the 2nd leg if we host. It could have conflicted with the World Series if the Yankees host game 6 or 7, but this would require that they have a better record than the NL team, which is no longer possible.

honestly, cleveland has a better team and yankee pitching i feel still suspect.

Okay, now that I am at my desk, here is an update on the above. I have used strikeout on scenarios that can no longer take place and have underlined new information.

Basically, there will not be a conflict this year if we hold on and finish 2nd - barring some major rain delays in the baseball postseason.

They will want to finish the game the same day due to the national TV schedule in the event of a rain delay.

Yankees are down 0-2 with Game 3 tonight at Yankee Stadium live on FS1 at 7:38 PM.

I think it's going to be an early exit for the Pinstripes.

And Joe Giradi will be fired for not challenging that play in Game 2.

Yankees win Game 3

Game 4 Monday @ 7:08 PM

Think Yankees will win Game 4 as well.

I have to think we will see the real Severino tonight. Hopefully, now that he has pitched in a playoff game and seen what that's like, he will be able to control his nerves and excitement for this one.

Interesting move putting Bauer in there. I hadn't realized they were doing that. I see that if they pitch him tonight, he would be on 4 days' rest for Game 2 of the ALCS, which means he could then pitch Game 6, if necessary. Kluber would then either pitch our Game 5, or if Cleveland win tonight, Game 1 of the ALCS.

I am sure they don't plan to pitch him long. They can turn it over to the bullpen and with tomorrow off, rest those guys for a final game.

The Yankees have good bullpen availability should they need it. Chapman is probably not available tonight after throwing 34 pitches yesterday, but Robertson only threw 9, and Green, Warren, Bentances and Kahnle were all off. Cleveland used 3 guys last night, including Miller, but all threw 12 pitches, so they could be used.

Shouldn't be an issue. Game 5 would be Wednesday. Gives them 4 days to convert the field.

Yankees have the worst record out of all the remaining playoff teams, so even if they make the World Series, their home games would be Oct. 27-29, giving plenty of time to convert in time for Nov. 1 as long as we hold onto the 2-seed.
