UCL 17/18 Knockout Rounds (Draw and Matches)

So, what are the limits on matchups? No playing anyone from your domestic league and no playing anyone from your first round group?

Chelsea could really suffer from being the only EPL team to finish 2nd in its group then.

Yes, you have the limitations correct. And yes, Chelsea messed up, thus my RIP.

To me, it’s almost certain they’ll match up Besiktas and Shaktar because FIFA and UEFA.

Curious, do you know how those odds are calculated? I get the limitations, but why are the odds different to play different teams?

It's a mix of both team's possibilities. So Chelsea has a higher chance of playing Barcelona than PSG or Besiktas, because Barca can only play 5 teams, while Besiktas has 6 and PSG 7.

I don't really watch a lot of Serie A Salah's numbers were good but not amazing for Roma. Where is this coming from? Is it the system /players around him being just right or has he really improved this much ?

Also All the English teams(That have played so far) looking in very good shape to advance so far. Well Liverpool and City are pretty much through could probably start B teams in second leg and be fine and I think Spurs should be pretty heavy favorites to get through at this point as well.

Parlayed over 2.5 goals, Liverpool to win and Salah to score. Not a lot of money, but a fun win.

Oh, and in case you missed it, boy, did he score.

This guy is insanely good. Like BOD contender good.

I am not supposed to like Mo, but I just can’t help it. Fuck. Don’t tell my red devil friends but I secretly felt the same way about Henry. I am pro Mo, he is just so much fun to watch.

My opinion is biased, for sure, but he's just incredible and seemingly so incredibly humble. To combine the pace, skill and strength all into one is so rare.

Funny you say Henry, the guys on Anfield Wrap were saying 2 days ago Mo is like a right sided Henry, and Firmino has a little Bergkamp to him. This LFC team is just so damn fun. Flawed, but fun.

When they are on, they are capable of putting 5 on anyone. Let's not overlook the fact that 538 had Porto as favorites to win. This wasn't supposed to be a blowout. Liverpool just wrecked them.

Bobby said at the pregame PC that they would make them suffer. Bobby knows.

Despite the deserved plaudits for Mo, Bobby's still my favorite. He's an absolute nutter, and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who celebrates a goal more like a 5 year old in the entire world. No coincidence he leads Europe in celebration cards over the last 3. The Kung Fu celebration now employed at least saves that. He's truly the key man. It's too bad he's no longer off the radar.

I would say they were actually pretty amazing and trending up every year, so he's just a player finding his level to some extent. But that's a bit of hindsight. I'd be lying if I said I expected this level of play. Hell, I wouldn't have expected this level from any new buy, even if it were Messi or Ronaldo. You'd be crazy and unfair to expect anything close. I figured 15 g/10 a. Now, we're at 30 g/10 a in mid February. Unbelievable to me. Basically, Mo plays, Mo scores.

Get this, adjusting all results as though Liverpool could only count goals scored by Mo, and they would still be 9th in the domestic league, one point below Everton. Ludicrous!

To me, it's like KDB making a similar leap. You find a perfect marriage of role, supporting cast, and director, and boom! Superstar is born.

He's great in the Klopp system, but he also scores solo goals that are Messi-esque. The one yesterday and the one against Spurs were both jaw dropping pieces of skill. And he can also hit some long range bombs.

Where I think Klopp just suits him and so many players so well is he understands his players' psychology and their strengths. Once Salah started scoring, he's adapted the tactics to accommodate him getting more freedom to play what amounts to a second striker who starts at RW. Early on, he was playing a far more typical RW with track back duties. Now, Klopp allows the scoring instincts to flourish and will do all he can to help him put up staggering numbers.

Liverpool need to pay whatever it takes to keep him. It may be tough, though.
