This for next years tournament.

If anyone is interested the preliminary rounds schedule is out. There are 108 Amateur teams (last year it was 64) taking part in this round of the tournament (not including NPSL & PDL, they come in the "first round") . I guess all the hype amateur teams got in 2017 got more amateur teams interested.

Please capital the "C" in Cup in the thread. It's going to haunt me the entire year.

lol, really that is what bothers you? It bothers me more that in three tries we have yet to get a win in this cup

We'll never do very well with the number of international spots we stock our roster with. Just don't have enough domestic/green card players.

I wonder how many venues we’re declaring

Now would be a good time to publicize it/them to the STH. Get it all on the table and in the open so there aren’t any last minute surprises/meltdowns.

i mean we dont even know when we will play. though its probably in June. I know last year the intention was to host it but we never knew where since we played away to RB. Yankee stadium was available but who knows.

but knowing the options would help although i have yet to go to a us open cup game since im always at work during these weekday games.

EDIT: with NASL 2018 season dead we probably be playing RB , i dont think NYCFC wants to host this anywhere outside of YS and may just give up hosting that game

The Fordham match was a great “away” day, lotta fun to see the club in a tiny venue. I’d rather get something like that again than a home match at YS or Citi.

We could be playing any number of lower league teams that come out of qualifying in our regional bracket, so there’s no certainty we’d play the cows.

eh true, but i dont even know what the set up is yet with the whole NASL, the only teams nearby are revolution, or philly. i dont know if the local amateur team will make it thru 2 rounds prior to playing MLS team. it could happen though

Agree in general, but the pitch sucked, and that made the soccer worse.

That was the last time Mix ever donned a NYCFC uniform on the pitch :(.
