Some is luck. Some is also that they are just quicker and more athletic than almost any other team.
It's expected they would be among the leaders. This pace, however, is absurd, and almost certainly means that every time they get an iffy maybe/maybe-not contact in the box it is getting called. Also, the connection between quality and winning PKs is weaker than I would have thought. Here are the league leaders going back a few years with their points and SS ranking:
2011 DCU 10 PKs 39 Pts 13/19

They complained when no foul was called an a Will Johnson dive. To be fair to them, it was hard to tell it was a dive in real time from the stands, (not that it excuses the throwing of stuff). But everyone, I mean everyone, agrees it was a dive.

I am starting to genuinely believe that this is all to get Atlanta the CCL to showcase MLS and that we don’t have the capability of hosting the games.
The fix is in.
sure, but we are not having these softish calls going our way all the time so far this season to get points....id like to believe the theory so far.
