Selecting Morocco would be the first time in half a century (at least) that FIFA chose less money over more.

Nope. The brown paper bags (or the we'll give you our stadiums bs) would be the only thing that gets Morocco this cup. There is only one reason FIFA members would chose Morocco over the NA bid and its the Twitterer-in-chief.....

True. But it sure didn’t help that the ol FIFA prez came out yesterday and said that FIFA can survive the lack of money generated from the Morocco bid if that’s what the voting body chose.Yeah like 413Blue said, only very heavy envelopes or bags will get Morocco the 2026 WC.

Wtf?!? It’s something like $8B less - if I read it correctly - for an org’s executive to even suggest turning their back on that amount is a guaranteed greenlight to vote against the North American bid. The guys at FIFA liquify cash to shoot into their veins - there’s zero chance they’d want to even allow that (loss of revenue) to be a possibility, and yet somehow Morocco survived the technical report stage (where they had a cumulative failing grade) and is up for a vote.
I really hope I’m wrong, but I fully expect 2026 to be a loss with Morocco winning and then hosting the biggest clusterfck since 2022 in Qatar.

I’m kind of hoping it goes to morrocco. I want it to just become this big joke. And maybe the major nations will get sick of it and do their own thing.
Only countries that have pro-rel know how soccer works though....If ever there was a time to make Hope Solo personna non grata with US Soccer and fans, it’s now. Kick her out forever. Of all people to be undermining the 2026 Bid......

So you want to remove even the appearance of transparency? The problem is that it appears voting is being based on allegiances.

I think its time to scrap the vote altogether. The bid which gets the highest score in the evalaution, should win it.

Let an arbitrary, behind closed doors process decide?
