2018 Roster Discussion

The league has more talent at the top than ever. Maybe fewer geriatric big names, but I'm not even sure that's the case after the Zlatan and Rooney signings.
I think you can make strong arguments that the last three geriatric signings (Zlatan, Rooney, Bastian) were not made for sporting reasons. The league as a whole is trending away for those types of signings. The fact that someone like Zlatan was willing to come over as a TAM player is quite remarkable.

You posted a response to a well-known podcast's tweet/question - it's not as if yours was a prime-level tweet.

Don't put the blame on the player assuming he searches his own name.

I never said my tweet was prime level. I don't know why anyone would read my tweets frankly.

And it was a funny response. Just weird that a professional athlete would respond. Third time.

Yeah we've got to pick a narrative here. Either Ibra's getting paid what they say he's getting paid, in which case he's the best sporting-reasons deal in league history, or else, well, the thing that actually happened happened.
What was that? I want to know...

Its well known he is getting sponsorship money on the side, but does LAG make a move for him if they weren't now competing with LAFC for the limelight after they spent all the allocation money they did to bring over Ola Kamara and considering much they need to upgrade their backline.

More talent at the top for MLS standards...but I meant the names that have been thrown around throughout the years have subsided. We aren't getting big names and we don't want old talent. There's quality depth which will make for better game play. That's not a dig, that's a compliment to the league for trying to build right. Though there is some trash play still, there's some good talent sprinkled about.

I guess that comes down to personal preference, you know? Some MLS GMs might want to spend that $1.5m on the best pure striker of the last twenty years and others might want Bořek Dočkal .
He was coming off a major injury at an old age. Its work out well for LAG but don't downplay how risky it was.
