Incidentally as it pertains to last night, the new state senator for the district that contains Willet's Point is a fan of the team and often posts pictures of her and her family at games on Facebook.

EDIT: I suppose I shouldn’t tempt fate and say Democratic State Senate Nominee... but seriously, you could nominate Gandhi on the GOP line in that district and he’d get crushed.

The linked story has more information than I would reveal.
A particularly big topic of conversation revolved around what was referred as a “Pioneer Package” which would include a one-time payment that would provide perks such as a long-time price lock on season tickets, a lounge at the new stadium for “Pioneer members”, and early access to tickets for alternative events at the stadium among other things.

The optimistic part of me wants to believe this would be offered to "founding members" at either a steep discount or simply as part of being a founding member.

...yeah, right.

And yet, it really doesn’t say much.

Size of stadium- nothing really proprietary there unless they’re worried about seller doing a lot of Square Footage calcs to see how long to hold out for.

Pioneer package- meh. Probably better from a PR standpoint to get it out now rather than later.

Tifo apparatus- always figured that’d be in it.

Dear NYCFC Front Office,

I did NOT provide any details of the story published by Hudson River Blue. Don't sue me.

Anyway...

Pioneer Package...one time payment that doesn't include tickets...PERSONAL SEAT LICENSE. Get out the pitchforks and start the angry mob if this happens. We have the richest owners in sport, they don't need money from the government OR FANS to build a stadium.

It doesn't seem like we lose anything we currently have by not buying this. And it doesn't seem like as regular STH we would be subsidising it. So why not just not buy it?

Unless you have a pitchfork you don't have any other use for, or just wanna get angry, what am I missing?
