NYC personnel who are on the ballot:
MVP
Moralez
Villa
Defender
Callens
Tinnerholm
Goalkeeper
Johnson
Newcomer
Medina
Tajouri-Shradi
Humanitarian
Johnson
Comeback Player
Matarrita
Coach
Torrent

No NYCFC nominees for Rookie

Also,
Referee of the Year nominees
Kelly, Alan
Saghafi, Nima
Sibiga, Robert

Assistant Referee of the Year nominees
Fletcher, Joe
Morgante, CJ
Rockwell, Corey

The only ref I have ever heard of on this list is Kelly. Given the amount of bitching about refs league-wide, I consider it an accomplishment for a ref to remain effectively anonymous.

I’m fascinated by 17 coach of the year noms in a 23 team league.

Oh it's even more bizarre than that. There have been 6 midseason coaching changes. If you considered every fired and replacement coach ineligible, that would leave 17. Except, they nominated midseason replacements Armas and Torrent, so the only full season coaches in the league not nominated were Paunovic in Chicago and Hudson in Colorado. How insulting is that?
Hell, they nominated Cabrera (HOU), Heath (MNU) and Vanney (TOR). New England has won twice in the second half and Freidel made the cut.
Plus I kind of suspect that Armas made the cut on his own and Torrent made it because Armas made it.

I don't think Maxi will win the league MVP award since Josef is having the best scoring season in league history, but Maxi should finish very high up the chart.
Realistically, he should be the closest any NYCFC members get to winning the above awards. I do want to point out that I say that without any knowledge of the Humanitarian award, what Johnson has done towards that, and how that compares to the rest of the league. I simply have no knowledge there.

Callens and Johnson could have been on their way to be deserving of defender and goalkeeper of the year awards through the first half of the season, but the second half they have both been a bit too inconsistent to be seriously in the running for those IMO.

Maxi should get some MVP love, but as you pointed out, shouldn't win it.
