did he really have a good season in miami? the 2/3 games i saw he caused more harm and got beat alot. i keep reading comments saying he was one of the most "consistent" and "better players" in the squad....lol what?
Well, if you only saw 2/3 games and they saw them all, I'd trust their evaluations more than I'd trust your 2-3 games watched, haha.

I also have the two years seeing him live that this is not a guy you build around. has his moments here and there but thats it

True, but I don't think they're looking at it as "it's a guy you build a team around", but rather "here's a solid defender that will be good for us to have" - clearly austin is not going for an LAFC approach.

This is Reyna saying "this is a guy who can come in as an experienced left back backup" had to have been a pretty sweet deal for Sweat to leave his family in FL again unless Miami was like "um... see ya"

“He’s someone you build a team around. “As in, if you build a a good enough team around him, he’s not all that much of a liability.

ooof thats rough. i saw that live and it looked bad. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Contract declined by Austin FC. Eligible for free agency.

the austin fc press release made it sound that those options declines are still being negotiated including Sweat. Like i get its a business but letting go of a player that still recovering from injury that happened playing for you feels almost dickish.

You're saying they should have picked up a contract option on a player that wasn't all that great beforehand and then tore his ACL?

I kinda get what you're saying, but he got paid his salary while being injured.
