2018 General MLS Transfer Rumors

Terms not announced, but MLS site says for a goalkeeper leaving MLS, it's the largest ever transfer fee. According to my research, previous record was Tim Howard to Man United for $4.788 million.

Technically correct. Add in inflation and id be surprised if the undisclosed fee is more than Howard’s if leveled out. In the years since Howard was transferred, EPL purses have ballooned 10x or more with what teams pay - even mediocre guys get crazy transfers.

i like this one
calling it right now: This is nothing more than City Football group attempt to circumvent @MLS transfer protocol and Steffen will be loaned out to @NYCFC for several season. Either way, this is a terrible move by Steffan IMO and will stunt his development
yeah taking him out of MLS and then loaning him back is a bad move, uh, cause it will stunt his development, so, uh, um, leave him in MLS? what? damned if you do damned if you don't.

FC Cincinnati definitely being more proactive building a squad compared to when Minnesota United joined MLS.

interesting i actually said they were like Minnesota based on the expansion draft but seems like today made it seem like not so. No where near ATL or even LAFC but better than Minnesota ( and maybe even us ( minus villa) in 2015)
