Battle of the Blue & Orange would have been fun :3 (except, you know, Cincinnati does blue & orange correctly- like the mets and islanders and... not NYCFC)

what could be rivalrous about NYC v Cinci?

nothing, just like there was nothing between orlando and nycfc when they both came in and yet massive shit was said online that even MLS picked up on it and making us play three times a year and carolina cup was also feisty...for no reason

It's amazing how people can start an argument against nobody and nothing. Nobody -- not here, not on twitter, not on Reddit -- nowhere, is pushing a Cincinnati/NYCFC rivalry. The Cincy fans consider Columbus their rivalry. They -- and by they I mean enough on twitter to be noticed but not some giant movement - just wanted to open against us. Because they want to beat big bad NYC. That there are multiple posts here fighting with that ghost of a non-existent attempt to manufacture a rivalry is just insane.
People are simultaneously complaining that NYCFC is an MLS afterthought, then complaining when fans of other teams want to play us in a featured game. Pick one.

Paywalled, but in general a reminder that the initial renderings almost always seem to regress towards "rectangular box" over time.

Not to take away from the other grievances, but maybe to temper the envy.
FYI, that stadium IS a rectangular box underneath the roof.... other images have shown that it's a much more simple (cheap) design with an ornate roof above. So unless they scrap the flowing roof, a real possibility but definitely would be unfortunate, for one of a vanilla variety, it's probably not that far off (save for serious reductions in capacity, but that's another topic).

This was a very hard week to stomach our lack of a stadium.

Minnesota's looks fucking sweet and pretty much every new team is going to have a baller stadium built ready to go before we even annouce anything.

I couldnt even enjoy the schadenfreude of Monster Jam making Atlanta move their CCL game.

Late January - Early March is my new announcement horizon. If that passes, I think it's a lost cause.

I'm still convinced if we were going to hear anything it would've been before renewals. I don't expect up hear anything and I'm seriously debating cancelling my tickets if they don't bring in a DP striker and announce a stadium before the season begins.

That's interesting. I've always payed lump sum. This year they defaulted my payments to monthly installments. I think we are 2 or 3 payments in. What happens if you cancel at this point?

You don't get a refund, but you can stop future payments, and you will receive tickets for the first __ games based on what percentage of the total price you have paid. So if you are 3 payments in that represents 25% and you would get tickets to the first 4 games. I don't know how they handle the odd 1/4 game left over.

We haven't even received information about the dynamic pricing for games which should've gone out at the renewal time. This organization is incapable of doing anything on time.

True, I forgot about that. The same principle applies for FootyLovin FootyLovin's question: anyone who cancels he will get as many tickets as paid for in date order. We just can't assume the tickets are the same price and do the math yet.

But I don't see how you blame NYCFC for not releasing this info yet. That's a league issue. How can you expect the club to release individual game pricing data before the schedule is announced? Blame MLS for releasing its schedule so late. The club has told us as much as it can about dynamic pricing.

Good point. I forgot that the schedule is a tightly guarded secret. I wish the schedule was published early like MLB does it.

We know exactly who we're play and for the most part which matches are home and away vs Western Conference teams. They could just lost the matches by tier with dates TBD.
You are off the opinion that a Wednesday night game in March is as desirable as a Saturday afternoon in May? Really?
