Holy shit that’s a big loss for DC. Not sure his game is suited to England, but he did gel with Rooney, so maybe. Wonder if DC has a target in mind - watch them get Nani (for the ManU/Rooney connection) and he also has a resurgence like Wayne......
Villa (NYC)
Adams (RB)
Almiron (ATL)
Giovinco (TOR)
Acosta (DC)
The biggest names in the Eastern Conference won't be in the league in 2019. Wow.
Is he good enough to even play for PSG?
I don't follow closely myself, but from what I gleaned this morning their midfield is decimated by injuries and they're kind of desperate. Also, I realize they're levels above Newcastle, but if Almiron just sold for $27M then Acosta for $10M is kind of a bargain I think. Is he good enough to even play for PSG?
I think it is the former. Stephen Goff of the Post is not only a top national soccer journalist, but also the beat writer covering DCU. If anyone knows, he does. Also last night -- about the same time as the WP story -- The Athletic posted a Kristian Dwyer story indicating that DCU rejected a $6.2M offer from a Saudi club for Acosta with no mention of PSG.
I don't know if Dwyer got scooped or if the WP got played.
Boo hoo, Giovinco. Toronto refused to offer a 5-year deal to a 32 year old player whose Goals Scored has already gone down 3 consecutive years. That hardly means they don't want to win.Looks like Ali Curtis is ruffling feathers up in Toronto. Giovinco throwing shade on the way out.

Not to mention, they were a disaster last season. Perhaps the players have a different definition of "winning"Boo hoo. Giovinco. Toronto refused to offer a 5-year deal to a 32 year old player whose Goals Scored has already gone down 3 consecutive years. That hardly means they don't want to win.
I will grant that it's almost certain that Toronto is better in 2019 with him than without, especially so given how soon the season starts and them being in CCL. He possibly offers more value than the alternatives in 2020 also. But those last 3 years are very sketchy if he's a 34-37 year old guaranteed contract DP in a 3-DP league. Not to mention, they were a disaster last season.
