Star Wars Machete Order

actually was planning on doing it this month - started two days ago with A New Hope - laughed a lot at "This R2 had a bad motivator" Kept picturing Poku with Kreis as the motivator ... you get it?

As a person who has seen all of the original trilogy films a few dozen thousand times and the prequals a small handful I am interested in it.

An old buddy of mine who has two daughters watched them with her in release order. He said that the tears she cried when she heard vader was Luke's father were too much for him to make her wait 2 movies for the redemption.

I'll let you know how I feel about the machete order in the coming weeks after actually investing time in it.

SPOILERS

That being said I have been privvy to some new shit man. Apparently the head bad guy - The emporor if you will for the force awakens is named a character from the prequels back with a vengeance.

SPOILERS

JAR JAR BINKS IN SUPREME COMMANDER SITH LORD SNOKE!!!

Yup - it's a fact - think about it Jar Jar was clearly pulling strings and using the force the whole time. He had way to much "Dumb luck" to survive the Phantom Menace. He's tight bros with Palpatine, he makes the speech that dissolves the Democracy (all while waving his arms to do a jedi mind trick.)

But the most damning evidence of all - Vader is Dutch for Father - big plot twist involving Vader - he is Luke's Father
Snoke in dutch is Fish - specifically a Pike. Ever seen a Pike? Looks like just like ... you guessed it JAr JAr mutha-Fuckin' Binks!!!!

Not my original Ideas - just search Darth Jar Jar

MIND BLOWN!

SPOILERS ENDED

So with all that in mind I kind of want to watch Phantom again with new eyes!

Star Wars shirts in the Cityzens store Kyle. Better hurry.

I think I screwed this up. Got my wife and I tickets for opening weekend. She never watched anything before, but knew the whole Darth is Luke's father already. (She has been alive in America for the last 30+ years). Chose Episode Order for her. She's only watched Episode 1 so far. She thought it was funny, but not too into seeing another now. Do I take her straight to 4 and use machete order from here on out? Or do I just push her into 2 and keep on going?

Trying to convince a grown woman (or grown man) to like Star Wars is going to be tough. Hard to imagine too many adults who could conceivably like it having avoided it for this many years. I just watched A New Hope tonight with the kids (watching each movie to prep them for the new one) and it really is a kids movie.

But if you insist on trying, stay the F away from the prequels, regardless of viewing order.

Oh and my wife is a HUGE Family Guy fan. So she's pretty much watched Star Wars in Family Guy form without getting any of the references. Like it was a new film staring Peter, Stewie and Chris. How wierd is that?

I just read about the machete order. This was a hot topic at my Thanksgiving celebrations. I will just add that everyone should also check out some excellent fan edits that correct some of the BS in the special editions of the original trilogy and make some wholesale changes to the storyline of the prequels to make them more palatable.

Ep IV: Adywan - Episode IV Special Edition Revisted - This is what the Special Edition should have been. Adds the CGI and effects but gets rid of stupid changes (Han shoots first). This is the ultimate version of IV.

Ep V: I have been waiting for years for Adywan's Empire Strikes Back but if some of the changes in the Special Edition and BluRay bug you. Harmy's DeSpecialized fan edits are for you.

Ep 1-3: There are a couple of good fanedits of the prequels to make them actually watchable. I haven't watched them but yet but I plan on getting Hal9000's version that came out last year. No midichlorians. Anakin is more mature, and not a whiny little kid. Relationship with Padme is a less pedo. Anakins downfall is a little more believable and more in line with the original trilogy. This is Hal9000's second go around with the prequels so make sure you get the new version.

Clone Wars: There are some interesting TV to movie adaptions of the cartoon clone wars to make them more like the a movie that fits in with the live-action films.

Episode VI: Q2's version of Return of the Jedi does something similar to Adwayn's Revisited. Uses the Bluray Special Editions but combines it with Harmy's DeSpecialized Return of the Jedi to edit out the most egregious changes.

If you are interested in these fan edits, you can usually find them on the popular torrent sites. If that's not your thing check this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/fanedits/comments/2fgy72/a_brief_primer_on_how_to_find_and_download/
