Preseason - All Matches

Alright, bud. Should I prepare myself to prison now or smth?

I can leave the way of getting the match here if you want but then you should just post the link and hope they won't be looking through this topic and won't fix the bug or be too lazy to fix the it, although it's actually is not literally a bug.
If anyone wants it and you take it to PM that's fine I don't mind any of that. But I know the club does frequent the forums so we do try to keep t clean. Plus you have trolls that'll come here looking for stuff to report and so on.

That is why my first post was about PMing. Think we could re-PM the match to those who would like to see it if somebody helps out with getting it. I've even already made an instruction with screenshots. The whole process, by my calculations, would take up to 1 minute of one's time.

So how did we do? I get that Matarrita played well. Who else? Did we win? Villa scored. Anyone else? How were the keepers and defenders?

I thought the defense was okay, its still super early in preseason so there were a few mistakes and Martinez got beat a couple times but there's still time to work stuff out. Iraola was ehhh again so I hope that's just a preseason thing too because I thought he'd be a lot better this year. A lot of guys didn't get a chance to do much so it's hard to compare them.

Saunders had a couple saves but a few mistakes in handling the ball. Johansen didn't have to do very much but he seemed comfortable playing the ball off and coming out of goal (he dove for a header out of the box once.)

One of the things I really liked was how we pressed with our forwards, that really messed with OKC and led to our goal. Overall good start but I wish we could have finished a couple more. The best part of the game was that in both halves we attacked almost exclusively on the near side of the camera so it was easy to watch lol

Our next game is against Montreal. We will have more scoring chances. It should be a more open game. Two professional teams playing will have more space open up. Playing against a college side and a USL side we saw both deploy defensive shells which hindered our attack and didn't lead to a lot of chances. We basically dribbled up to their 18 and either turned it over or took a bad shot or got a corner that led to nothing.
Should see more space to shoot against Montreal and we might get our first taste of a true starting 11.

Will Drogba be there?

For sure. These were both pretty ragged matches. Next week will be much more interesting. I'm sure we will see Pirlo and Lanpard back, assuming there isn't an injury. If it is a "first choice" 11 based on where we sit today, curious to see if Brillant has already worked his way in.

This NYCFC preseason is looking a lot like 2014/15 Chelsea. Winning 1-0, not beautiful soccer, holding possession...CHAMPIONS

How did Ivanov look?
Crisp passes, ran well, but that's it. They didn't really make him work. It's a good sign. Already miles ahead of George John.

The passing stood out to me. Played several incisive balls forward to the midfielders that moved the ball forward in a more direct way that we saw much of last year but weren't just playing long balls.

He seemed to be playing a lot less aggressively than Hernandez who he was partnered with, but it was hard to tell whether that was a tactical decision, because he was physically limited or because he was on the far side of the pitch which was harder to see on the stream.

Any idea whether it will be possible to start a live stream like this late and still watch from the beginning? On bedtime duty around that time tomorrow.

Game starts at 7pm - add a benedryl to their milk at 6pm.... you should be clear for the kickoff whistle.

You may be able to "pause" the live stream and then catch up later. I know a lot of those streams use video players that allow you to pause it, then resume.

This would mean that you would need to be in front of a computer at 7pm though.
