Down & Out
3 games tonight. The deadline is 7:00 PM when Chicago takes on Philadelphia, so don't forget to make your moves.

DGW for the Union, Red Bulls, Galaxy & RSL.

Figuring that it would be a win-win situation, I went heavy on the NJ players this round. WIN, because Kljestan, Grella, Robles and BWP should score a bunch vs RSL and Columbus. WIN, because there's always the chance that by selecting them for my Fantasy team, all four will totally crap out and help in reality.

The one thing to watch out for is that Marsch doesn't have a problem sitting players during DGW for NJ.

This round I'm riding:

G: Robles

D: Kemp, Zimmerman, Sjoberg

M: Kljestan, Grella, Valeri, Pontius

F: Villa, Plata, BWP (C)

I think I've found the starting lineup I want to get to, and am now just slowly making transfers until I get there. This week I'm rocking:

G: Rowe
D: Zimmerman, Evans, Rosenberry
M: Harrison, Alonso, Nguyen, Valeria
F: Villa, Giovinco, Dwyer

We're in an interesting part of the schedule. The round before the break had a lot of teams not playing. I used my 1st Half wildcard to field a good team that week, and also set myself up for the DGWs this week and next. That left me with a solid but less than stellar roster last week and I was both lucky and happy to grind out a win. The next tricky bit is that 2 weeks after next most but not all of the teams that have DGWs this week and next have the week off, so you couldn't load up on DGW players willy-nilly, making sure you can rejigger for the bye week without having to take a transfer penalty.

Agree. Seems like a lot of guys are in the same position as the top score last week was something like 83 points. I ended up with 56 myself.

I'm in pretty good shape, because right now I have four starters who are going to miss time with that massive bye week in round 18. I should be able to get around it with little trouble.

The only thing I have to look out for is when NYCFC get the bye, I might be in a tad of a spot since RJ Allen is the 1st guy off my bench if an auto-sub is needed. I don't think I'm going to sweat it though.

TBH, I don't think I'm going to finagle much with the DGW in round 17, because I'm not sure if anyone on NYCFC or New England can outscore any player my lineup even with 2 matches.

That week before the break really played havoc with rosters even if you had the wildcard to help, because lots of top scorers weren't playing, meaning you had to get rid of guys like Giovinco, Piatto, Kljestan, Nguyen and BWP all didn't play and that's half the top 10 point-scorers in the league.

Picked up Blake for the double yet I'm happy he has given up a goal already.

Side note: Anyone else having trouble gaining access to the Fantasy page?

When I click the Fantasy icon, I'm sent to a page that has a link to Twitter, Draft Kings etc. instead of the usual log in page. There's no icon I can see that will send me to the Dashboard, or even allow me to log in.

The only way I've gotten in is by clicking my full history page, then clicking on any given time I entered yesterday.

Same here. For some reason they replaced the usual link with one to the Twitter account. I can reach it by typing fantasy in my address bar.

I don't even want to check to see why Valeri has a goose egg this week. I was looking good until last night.

He apparently has a previously undisclosed knock but I can't find any news about it even now. At least I had Mauro Diaz going last night to make up for it. I don't think I even have anyone to sub in for Valeri. I also have Drew Moor who inexplicably sat against the Sounders for TFC. I should get 2 points from my sub for him.

Thanks, and ugh. Now that I think of it, I did have Steres as my first sub, and he had a good game. I believe (hope) a defender can replace the points for a midfielder in a 3 4 3, to make it a 4 3 3. I hope that's the case and the points are not reflected until the round ends.

Without checking, I'm very certain that is permitted. I think you can have 3-5 defenders, 3-5 mids, and 1-3 forwards.

I'm in the same boat. I have both Valeri and Moor in my starting line up.

Although I somewhat lucked out, because I set it up for Zimmerman to be the first guy off my bench. I think he scored a ton of points.

I still think I have one guy beat, but I'm going to need a lot of help from Villa and Allen tomorrow night with my other match. We both have Villa, but when I try to work out his score it looks like he gave the C to Giovinco where as I gave mine to Villa.
