Mix Gone?

So with two midfielders out, what do you suggest we replace them with? I would go with a youngish CM, preferably an attacking one, and a striker that can easily play winger.

I have three authentic jerseys, Mix, Poku, and a "Founder" with the number 60 with the fan photos. Looks like I'm about to be sold to another team's founding members. Nice knowing ya'll.

I think we are going to be sitting here next year wishing we had Mix. Midfield of Mix & Iraola and a more attacking player would be just fine.

As for now, we are 37 year old muscles and ligaments from Iraola, bravo and Lopez. And that will be a horror show.

I will never get how we play Lopez over Mix. Shit, put mix and Poku on Seattle with Ozzie behind them, and they would destroy at least one MLS team I know. Poku would excel in Dempsey's role there.

It just really sucks that our two most talented players who aren't as old as me are getting shipped off because we can't fit them on the pitch. It could start a nasty little cycle like what RBNJ did for years, bouncing from old big name to old big name and winning fuck all.

So if we were to sell Mix to another MLS team, will we be freeing up the prorated amount of allocation money being used to buy his contract down? (outside of whatever other compensation we receive).

Or is the full amount of allocation money for the whole year gone?

Pro-rated. But pro-rate the salary of whomever we pick up instead (if we pick up anyone at all) and it's a wash (pro-ration wise).

I really don't think it's a matter of "fitting them on the pitch" anymore. I think Poku legitimately has more negatives than positives. And getting Mix to make an impact has been like pulling teeth - he's been tried at multiple positions in multiple systems by two different managers. What is more time going to do for these guys? They both had plenty of chances and they both lost their roles to their backups.

I'm the same way. I guess Johansen and Harrison will be departing us soon too.

When has Mix been allowed to play with Pirlo, Iraola and Jack in front of him?

And your appeal to authority means fuck all to me. PV is just wrong when he plays Lopez over Mix.

I agree with this, seems crazy to get rid of Mix. Assuming any of this is even true, which we don't know yet.

Sure, it's crowded in our midfield at the moment but what happens when nobody's left in a year or two? Lampard may be here for only this year and Pirlo may have another year (or he may not). I'm fine with loaning Mix out if we have to so he can play for the year but I wouldn't get rid of him. We'll need him in a year or two.

At Mix's salary, the expectations are higher than "do very little unless you have good players around you." I think your comment is backwards - other players should have been better when Mix was on the field - and they weren't.

Naive as this is going to read, I would imagine the geniuses at CFG are more than likely taking the approach the Yankees have done for years.

Whether or not he was a victim of circumstances, Mix didn't produce. In a year or two when both Lampard and/or Pirlo are gone there's going to be someone out there to sign to replace either or both.

There's always going to be someone out there to sign.

My 2 cents anyway.......

If both Mix and Poku leave surely we will just sign a new CM of starting 11 quality. I could also see a starting 11 quality winger coming in also. We are not stupid enough to let 2 players who play a similar position to leave and then not bring anyone in to replace them. Aslong as this is the case then i am ok with both leaving.

Have you been watching this team's management for the last two seasons?
