I've never been to RBA before and unfortunately have to rush tomorrow since I am traveling with a friend whose church job on the UWS gets out around 11:15.

Options are:

1). Take WTC PATH to Harrison, arrive around 12:15 if no delays

-is it possible to get a pregame drink near there in a place that is not an absolute zoo?

2). Take 12:07 NJ Transit to Newark Penn Station

- enjoy a beer on train and possibly very quick stop at a bar along the way but - do we make it to the game on time if it is slightly delayed and arrives at Newark Penn at say, 12:40?

How is entry to the stadium? Comparable to YS or faster? I've heard concession lines are rough at well attended games at RBA which is why I am so focused on pregaming.

I haven't been this excited for a game since the 2015 opener.

Bear in mind these games almost never start on time so you have a little more time than you think.

Path can be un predictable on weekends and going for drink near stadium means walking away from the stadium, if it were me I'd probably grab beer on njt train and then if time there are a lot of places for a quick beer on the way to stadium. If time is tight there is a liquor store on the way and we always stop there for a brown bag on the walk over. Which is probably what I'd do in your shoes since getting in to stadium may take longer than usual.

Edit I take it back - with this being on Fox it looks on time kick off

Also, ESPN has an MLS game at 3. Assume they want viewers going from one to the other. So definitely expect on time start.

So if the guy can get to the stadium by Path at 1215 I'd probably do that option. It won't be cheap but there is a beer garden I believe outside the stadium or if not, get in early when there won't be lines for beer.

1240 from nj penn is probably too tight to see kickoff and grab a beer.

Eh - nj soda ad are decent at home. I'd rather be above them in the standings and go farther in the playoffs than worry about a 1pm kickoff game when it's going to be ugly.

One thing the Pink Cows do is play extremely well at home. (And they are abysmal on the road). So they should be expected to win this one.

A tie would be a great result knowing how this squad plays in the heat. If anyone said at the beginning of the road trip that NYCFC would go 2-1-1, most of you would sign up right away. Even a loss means they are still 2-2 on the road trip which is far better than most MLS teams (RBNY would kill for that road record).

Any case, next week will be a chance to end Colorado's 15 game unbeaten streak.

Thanks for the tips - unfortunately it looks like the beer garden closes 30 minutes before kickoff.

I'm glad to see they're switching unis this afternoon. Given the circumstances, I thought it odd going with the darker colors.......but what do I know? :)

All blue is my least favorite this year, but the light color can make a dramatic difference in the temperature. I remember watching football and they'd show a thermometer under a black jersey and a white jersey. I forget the difference but it was significant
