Forum Poker Game

I think having it at RD's makes the most sense. Especially if it's successful we can have a monthly game at the same establishment for instance.

And shepherd's pie!

Hey all. Not to worry I prob wouldn't travel into the city to play poker with you. And I'm sure none of you want to hang out with me considering you all seem to like Midas, and he strikes me as the biggest toolbag ever. But for the record I also am prob the most accomplished player on this forum unless Jay H is really Shaun Deeb or something. I have made one WSOP (not main event, never played that because it takes too long and I work) final table and one WSOP circuit final table even though I have played very few of these events. I have also won or final tabled multiple larger events at Foxwoods and Mohegan in NLH, Omaha, Omaha O8, and Stud O8 over the years.

I don't play much anymore though because I am bored with it. I won the last tournament I played about 6 months ago. It was a $300 buy in and I won $7k. I also had a good cash session last weekend. But I've literally played twice in the last six months.

Thanks for letting me brag. I'll show myself out now ...
I can't play on the 14th until after 8. I volunteer with hospital bound children the second Wednesday of each month. Oddly we had a Vegas night once (about 5 years ago) and not so oddly the parents weren't thrilled about me teaching "quick math skills" through blackjack.

Enjoy!
Great! NYC24 's WSOP exploits make me feel incompetent and unaccomplished. And leilanikali420 leilanikali420 's volunteering with hospital bound children makes me feel like a selfish prick.

Anyone else have anything to share? Someone out there curing cancer? Doing an iron man? Winning a Pulitzer?

You can shoot for January. I can ask what dates are open. I'd like to get back to him soon so he's not holding the date.

I would suggest that we find out available dates at RD in January and then pick the one that works best for the most. I think that we should definitely use RD, and make it a tradition there, for many obvious reasons. And December is just a tough month to plan around in general. One of the reasons we didn't want to push it off was because we thought we would lose momentum and we would end up bagging the idea, but we seem to have the interest and commitment. so I don't think that's a concern.

I will defer to Viewfrom226 Viewfrom226 (and I can still make the 14th) if folks prefer, but maybe we just get the ball rolling after the New Year. Thanks Dan for the facilitating from afar.

I can't do the 14th, though people should go ahead if so inclined. Happy to do January and agree that RD would be a great spot if we can figure out what dates they have free in Jan.

The 14th is not great for me either, so I prefer January.

Only seems right that you attend as the organizer. So perhaps RD's in January unless they have other dates in December that work for you.

I will throw out two dates to see if either/both work for folks: How about Tues or Wed January 24 or 25th (though I'm doing so selfishly knowing I can't make the prior week.)

Please chime in with availability.

I should be able to do either date.

I could do 24th or 25th but would prefer the 25th as I'll just be coming back from Manchester on the 23rd.

The Tuesday works best for me. I have an alumnae phoneathon on the Wednesday - so I would not be able to make it to RD until about 830ish.
