Epl 14/15 Season

Anybody else excited for the Liverpool v Man City game?
*Raises hand*

This was my first weekend watching the EPL, manged to catch Arsenal. Man City, and Chelsea matches. To my untrained eye the Man City match was the most entertaining of the bunch.

I'm so nervous about this match. As a Liverpool supporter I feel like this is a pivotal game in our season, and it comes so early on. I hope we show up.

It was probably the most comprehensive win; Swansea's would have been if it hadn't been for United's utter shite (and rather hilarious) season last year.
Liverpool struggled, Arsenal went to the death to win it, and looked at times unconvincing, and Chelsea should have put Burnley to the sword, but couldn't.

The best match in so far as entertainment is concerned, was probably the Leicester v Everton game.

Being this is the second game of the season why do you feel that it's pivotal?

Liverpool is going through a bit of uncertainty. And a bad loss to the defending champions could deflate the team to a sluggish start. Starting well is important, so I just hope Liverpool wins, draws or fights to the end of a tough loss.

Interesting move I'd be slightly worried about an old player (Mario) burning City but overall he seems like the poor man's Suarez as a replacement to me. The talent is there but I don't think he scores as much or plays as regularly and he's about as bat shit crazy. If you notice his transfer fee has gone down each time he's moved which is not normal for a star player who should be in his prime. This could be last chance saloon time for him at a major club.

You're right, although I am not sure who is more bat shit crazy, Suarez or Balotelli. But I'll probably go with Chompers. I'm curious as to what Brendan Rodgers is going to do with Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho , Henderson, and now Balotelli.

I think that Chelsea just shut up shop in true Maureen style. The first half they looked awesome, I would be happy to take 2 points off them this season, and ecstatic with 4.... If we get the full 6 we win the league.

I agree though for pure entertainment for the neutral, Leicester V Everton was the game.

I hope you continue to watch the EPL Dark Phoneix Dark Phoneix, there will be twists and turns along the way. My pick of the games for this weekend would be
Sat ... Swansea City V Burnley. Burnley played some attractive football last season when they got promoted, and Swansea are a fairly attractive mid table side, I would expect more from Burnley than they could have been expected to show against Chelsea last week. Predict 2-1

Sat ... Everton V Arsenal... Two teams with top 4 potential (realistically Arsenal are top 3) but with home advantage Everton should be looking for a result against one of there direct competitors to give them early season advantage. Predict 1-2

Sun... Sunderland V Those that shall not be named.... Sunderland had a decent start scoring 2 away goals in a draw with WBA... they are a team capable of beating or losing to anyone in the division. With home advantage against a team that got beaten at home by Swansea (who finished just above Sunderland last year), the pressure will be on there opponents to get a result. Predict 1-1 (hope 4 - 0)

Mon... Manchester City V Liverpool.
With Chelsea and Arsenal on the Horizon in game weeks 4 & 5 this is a must win game for City.
Liverpool will want a result to get points against a potential foe before they start facing European fixtures (there depth of squad will be tested as European competition kicks in)

Some tough defensive decisions for Pellegrini... Zabba should return at RB...
Demechelis (who has had a solid start) or Mangala (new boy) .... Has Martin got the pace for Sturridge, Sterling and Ballotelli ? or do we give Mangala the baptism of fire...
Kolarov for his attacking abilities or Clichy for his defensive capability.

I think the whole result will be determined by City's choice of back 4. Predict 2-1 (Ok gone with the heart)

Personally I would play
_______________________Hart __________________________

Zabba ______________ Kompany / Demichelis _________ Clichy

__________________Fernando_____ Fernandinho ______________

SILVA _______________________ YAYA _____________NASRI

Subs .... Kolarov / Dzeko / Milner / Sagna / Jovetic / Lampard / Navas
