i know it's only 5 minutes away. But thought I'd give it a thread.

I'd say Negan killed the hearts of many fans and kept tightening the vice of pain over and over....

I was frustrated with the writing for Rick & Daryl - not sure they'd have spoken/lashed out the way they did after the archaic brutality they witnessed and their extreme utter helpless situation

It was more tolerable to me because Barol who I used to despise turned it around.

That makes the Neegan episode the outlier.

This show manages to make a zombie apocalypse mind numbingly boring, and I root for the zombies.
yeah, I love zombies. My favorite horror genre, so I keep up with the show, but ugh, for a while it was the whining dead. Hours and hours of sitting indoors whining about the new world social issue. Too much talking not enough doing. I also get very frustrated when zombies are seemingly nimble and unrelenting one moment, then in the next scene you could just sleepwalk past them. Very lazy writing imho and a cheap way to save characters you've written into a perilous corner.

I got hooked on zombies with "28 days later", and when TWD started the introduction to the post apocolypic world was clearly a shameless rip from the movie and I was like ok thats fine, but at least they are drawing form material i really like. But now, I think they've jumped the shark. They regurgitate the cast every season, killing half off and supplanting them with a new pocket of survivors. Ok fine, I suppose that would happen. But the ones that stay on have become blah. Pulled out of their charecter mold and made to be everything to everyone. It just takes me out of the fantasy of the world and screams to me of marketing. I can picture some marketing guru saying we so and so to keep surviving because their image garners the most banner ad clicks. And that leads to all the filler and lazy writing to save them. But hell, what do I know, the show is a mega hit and im just some shmo with a keyboard.

I root for the zombies.
That's actually not a terrible idea. There should be a reoccurring zombie that we could follow throughout the season. what zany antics will he get caught up in this week.

I know your pain... It's just such a bad show. But I've been watching too long to stop.

I mean if they've found a way to produce electricity for the town, which is seems they have. It's not beyond they realm of possibility that they salvaged an ultrasound machine from somewhere and plugged it in. Maybe they find a soft ice-cream spigot and plug that in too. Add a little milk and sugar and everyone on the show can be walking around with mr. softie cones in the heat.

Maybe mr. softee is a cure for the zombie virus.

Obviously you bunch are sticklers for details without paying attention to what the show shows you.

Electricity: the settlements have all had either portable generators (early seasons) or solar panels (started with the Town of Woodbury & they're seen at Alexandria, The Hilltop, and The Kingdom). Neither are a stretch. I'd guess that Neegan's factory/HQ has a generator.

The ultra sound machine is easy - if they have a doctor that is a trained OBGYN, and the settlement survives by scavenging, it's safe to assume the doctor would know where to get one (which was first seen a few seasons ago when Maggie initially met him).

Ice cream- not quite the same (but similar), you missed the episode where Carl finds a gallon tub of chocolate pudding in an abandoned house and proceeds to sit on the roof with a spoon and consumes it all.

Exactly.

Incredibly lazy finale complete with cheese ball music.

Basically nothing happened this season.

When this show is good, it's really good. But that happens about 10% of the time.
Usually they use a few episode to set the table for the rest of the season. It feels like this entire season is setting the table for next season in October. Very disappointed last night.
