Introduce Yourself

Hello, Everyone!

My name is Matt and I'm in Upstate NY and super excited for the season to begin. My son and I are season ticket holders and love the game. Looking forward to a great season... Even if it means driving 5 hours each way for ALL of the games haha. Let's go NYCFC!! Can't wait.
Also from Central, Upstate, NY. Where abouts are you from?

Howdy - a little late on posting here since I joined the forum roughly a month ago - so confession: my name is not really LostAnvil - shocking, I know - you can find me under that name on most social media sites

I live on Long Island and commute into Manhattan - I am a STH (section 132) and a member of the Third Rail (have yet to go to a meeting given where I live)

For most of my life, I only followed the World Cup since they were more accessible and easier to follow - plus, my whole family played when we were younger up until high school - started following MLS a few years back and after splurging on a TV package, the Premier League last season

You'll notice me sit back during most of the in-depth discussions so I can learn as much as possible, although I'll probably throw an image or a gif into the mix - love me some potty humor

This forum is fantastic and I absolutely love it here - everyone has been really great (except that one guy...)! Really happy that we have this platform available to us!

Hey NYCFC Fans,

Im Mike from Virginia but have been living in NYC for the past 4 years. I am a recent fan of EPL and MLS. I support Chelsea and now NYCFC. Like many of you, I too have season tickets (237) and Im a Third Rail member. I cannot wait until the season starts. My friends and I are making the trip down for the CCC in a few weeks. I currently live in Brooklyn and watch EPL most weekends at Kent Ale House in Williamsburg/Greenpoint. This is also my first fourm experence. So far so good.

Looking forward to watching NYCFC and getting to know fellow fans.

All the best,
Mike

P.S. Does anyone know if there are NYC FC patches available? I would love to get my hands on a few of them. Thanks.

Hello all,

I used to go by CornellBigRed on here but since I will likely see many of you in person I thought it would be easier going forward to post under my real name. That way when we meet you can already know if you love me or hate me! Anyway I forget how to become a seasoned supporter if a mod can help me out.

Hey,

My name is Kory. I live in Brooklyn. I haven't really watched soccer much since I was a kid(except for world cup), so not much I can add to discussions. My father is a huge soccer fan and his teams are AC Milan and Chelsea. I also used to root for Juventus when I was a kid. I am following the team, because I feel like it's something I want to be apart of. I like the idea of supporting a NYC team at birth and soccer has never been that far from home for me.

I got tickets to the first game, but being a broke college student can't afford time and money wise anything more (I'm still gonna try and go to as many as I can). Love the idea of being at the opener. Hopefully the team will become big one day, and I can always say I was there for the first game.

Finally signed up. Better late than never!

Noah, 25, Bergen County raised, Rutgers+CUNY grad, been living in Brooklyn for 4 years now (currently in Bed Stuy), work in tech startups.

Like many others on here it seems, I only really watched the World Cup growing up. That all changed when on pure coincidence, my girlfriend and I just happened to be in Brussels for the Belgium-USA game. One of the best nights of my life; had an absolute blast and fell in love with soccer then and there. Of course it also generally helped that we were on a two-week Eurotrip during the World Cup; also managed to see Germany wallop Brazil 7-1 on our last night of the trip in Berlin (!).

The nail in the coffin was purchasing Football Manager 2014. Became a Chelsea supporter, and NYCFC soon after. I've got bleacher tix for the home opener and for the match against the New Jersey Red Bulls Corporation.

I'm active on /r/nycfc, but I'll probably start off lurking for now until I get a feel for the "culture." But you can still except a snarky post or goofy gif from me in the near future. (insert smiley face here, can't stand cheesy emoticons...)

Cheers!
