Until NYCFC confirms it, it's not definite. That's my MO for transfers. Plenty of places where the selling club will announce stuff like this too early.
This is a softball I won't touch!

A "hängende spitze" the Germans say, basically someone that plays behind another forward when attacking... A bit like say Wayne Rooney I guess.

I hope to hell we don't touch Xavi with a 10 foot pole. I can't find a link, but no to long ago I read a piece where Xavi himself said he was done. He said it just takes to long between matches to recover. Please pass on him.

I think this possible Nemec signing would make us more likely to get someone like DDR rather than another DP forward. Thoughts?

If this is true than I would have to agree with you. Can't waist a DP slot on someone who is just trying to find the energy to play

I agree. This Nemec signing, if it happens, would probably be the last forward signing. NYC has Villa, Mullins, Taylor, Shelton, Naglestad and now maybe Nemec. That might be enough. If Kreis plays a 2 forward formation, then Villa will team up with Nemec or Mullins.

In the beginning of the most recent video posted it looks like guillermo Ochoa in at goalie and I know there was rumors of him moving from Malaga since he was getting any playing time!

NY Post says it's official: http://nypost.com/2015/01/26/nycfc-picks-up-european-national-team-striker/

*snip*
New York City FC added another European national team striker to the stable when Slovakia forward Adam Nemec left FC Union Berlin to come to New York.

The move was announced on the Bundesliga 2 side’s official website. The 29-year-old Nemec — who has scored 14 goals in 64 appearances with the German club — terminated his contract by mutual agreement with Union Berlin.

EDIT
Ugh. Sorry boys, I didn't see Enemigo already posted this in another thread. Note to self: morning coffee first, posting later.
