Kids Who Escort Players Onto The Field

I just spoke to a very nice rep for the NYCFC who went over some aspects of the program.

Basically, this is a way to sell more tickets to games and to get kids out supporting the team (these are my words, not his). Both, frankly, are good goals, and I support that.

There are four different levels of commitment that a youth program can adopt. Each involve buying some combination of season tickets and group tickets. In exchange, the team will give the youth club a certain number of opportunities for kids to do things like get on the field for warm ups, act as player escorts, work as a ball boy/girl. The team will also hold coaching clinics for the youth club's coaches and do pre-game "chalk talks". The highest commitment involves buying 40 season tickets and 100 group tickets, and the lowest involves only 4 season tickets. So, there is a big range, and flexibility within each level to structure it the way the youth organizations would like.

I personally think it will be difficult for me to get something done with my son at this time, but I think it's a good program and will consider trying to get something done now or at some point in the future.

I would like to know which local youth soccer organization can afford to buy 40 season tickets + 100 group tickets to NYCFC.

I'm on the board of one of the biggest youth soccer programs in Westchester County and I can assure you that we don't have $10,000+ to drop on MLS tickets.

Yeah, that's a lot of money to drop for a youth team. Even the minimum 4 season tickets is a lot.

if you are on the cityzens website, they have an auction type thing to have your child walk out with the team if anyones interested.

Just came here to post the news. Just entered the sweepstakes, lets see if we win. My kid will love it.
I hope you win, man. When I was a kid, I got to march onto the field at a SJ Clash game with Jeff Baicher. He gave me his jersey, got to meet the guys in the locker room (Wynalda!) and got an autographed ball. It was awesome. So awesome that I remember it vividly like 17 years later haha And that was at San Jose State University. This would be Yankee freaking Stadium!

Hi all, This is my first post here...I won the Cityzens player escort raffle for this past Wednesday for my eleven year old son. The team did a fantastic job organizing the event and my son had the time of his life. I was so impressed with the way they managed it I renewed my season tickets the next day. He walked out with Toronto midfielder Cheyrou #8. There is no doubt this is a memory that will last forever. The team gave him a Wells Fargo kit and also a NYCFC kit to keep. Definitely worth the 100 points to join the raffle.

Great stuff. On the Cityzens thread, there is another happy dad whose kid won and got to go that night. Seems like a really good experience.

All, I am happy to report that we won the sweepstakes to for a player escort for tomorrow's game against New England.

So, the little guy in the picture on the left is going to get to walk onto the field with the players tomorrow. I will let everyone know how it goes.
Congratulations

Congratulations, who do you reckon he be assigned to?

It's totally random. You can read a description from someone who was able to do it in another thread.

Apparently, he will get to keep what he wears onto the pitch, which includes a full kit. Coincidentally, that's what the Easter Bunny is bringing him, so might have to scramble here. Although, I think I recall that the kit he gets is the practice kit. Not sure if anyone here knows.

His sister is supremely jealous, but she is only 5 and didn't make the age cutoff (7). She will have to deal with the consolation prize of face painting and cotton candy.
