Ejected From Last Night's Game

My guess is they are less concerned with randomly yelled profanities, even if repeated, than with the chanted or sung profanities. It's become audible on TV during MLS matches and I suspect the league is cracking down because I have seen some references to the audible cursing on TV (not specifically at YS but at MLS generally).

That's what I would assume. I watched some of the Thursday night Philly game on YES and at one point you could clearly hear "Asshole, Asshole..." being chanted until they cut to a different camera. Like others have pointed out, I'm sure there are other ways to protect the cleanliness of the broadcast then just muzzling the crowd from getting involved. We'll see how they work that out going forward...

While I feel bad for those that had a bad experience and feel their rights were stepped on, I lean towards the side of YS on this. I personally prefer a more family-like atmosphere. Chants can be fun without vulgarity and show greater respect for fellow fans that may have different standards/backgrounds. (Prudish. I know, but it works for me.)
My concern is for growing the league and I feel an obligation as an existing fan to make the environment as comfortable as possible for new fans...even if that means giving up certain 'rights' for myself.

I fully understand other views and just sharing an alternate view. Twenty years ago, I may have had a different perspective.
Lmao you sound like an ultra liberal. Willing to give up all your rights so that the government will protect you. That's very sad.

The inalienable right to live up to all generalizations about New Yorkers.

I enjoy yelling abuse at opposing teams, players and fans in the context of a soccer game. It is my way of relieving tension. I think other fans enjoy doing so as well, as one could infer from so many joining in the chants. Yelling curses at the opposition does no harm so why should it be stopped? This isn't throwing objects or hurling racial epiteths. Why piss on how I like to enjoy a match? I don't disparage how other fans like to sit and watch quietly. There are sections of the stadium which should cater to each type of supporter rather than imposing one style of support on all attendees.

Sir, this is a family-friendly forum and we cannot allow language of this type to pollute our...Oh, fuck it, I can't type that and keep a straight face. Carry on.

I could hear at one point "fuck your helmet clapx5" a few times directed at McCarthy. Chants like that, with such little creativity and lack of maturity, should result in an automatic ejection and ban from the stadium. I would rather have actual adults in the supporter's section than juvenille clowns with six brain cells.

You sound like an ultra-idiot, willing to destroy the club with childish hooligan wannabe chants. Hopefully they make another green street hooligans movie for you and scouse to go watch, but keep it in the theater.
*I am about as far from liberal as you can get, but I can understand reality.

Could be Pattyboybx....or, could be the type of person that had parents that taught the Golden Rule, thought selfishness was wrong and led by example in putting others first.

Hmmm. We should all just give up our tickets to the less fortunate..... Wouldn't want to be considered selfish. You're missing the point. If you give into the excessive rules that ys set up then what the hell is left? This is what football has always been. Why isn't the game as big in the us as in the rest of the world ? Because it's fucking boring. The fans are what make the experience worthwhile. I love the game and I want to express the passion I have outward. Of course in a peaceful manner but definitely not in a quiet one. Ys stopped us from bringing in a fat head. They won't allow anything. The rules are over the top. If you want a calmer setting then go for that section. Where ever it is.

Yea. I'm willing to the Destroy the club. Tell that to the thousands in the sg sections that all have the same argument as I do.
Btw I don't recall referring to you as a liberal. I guess I must really be an idiot. I'm in 238. You should come check out what we do before you bash anyone. I guarantee you'd have a change of heart. Till then keep up the good work. Warrior.

You had a bit of an issue between supporters groups a few matches ago ,instead of keeping it in house and sorting it your selves people couldn't to run to the club and make it a massive issue on Facebook etc.
The club step in and try to eradicate it and probably the same people are moaning .
Think on this one your reaping what you've sown

The next story in the rags is going to be how NYCFC supporters and Yankee Stadium security are at odds over the use of profanity. Stop making it easy for them. At odds with MC fans. At odds with each other. At odds with nazis. At odds because of lack of security. At odds because of too much security.

Can someone explain this Nazi stuff. What exactly happened. Or are you all still trying to keep it hush hush. I definitely think anything regarding nazi chants or whatever this might be is totally unacceptable.

Actually. Both groups met up at ys and discussed the matter. We shook hand and even hugged it out. So if there's anything else you would like to know just ask. But please don't state opinion as fact.

Do the bleacher creatures have to abide by these no profanity rules for Yankee games? I remember there being controversy before but can't remember if it was because of foul language.

Yes, but that was after all the public mud slinging took place for a few days or even a week which led to media reports about it.
