Away 05/23 - Rsl

Facey was in no man's land just about the entire night. I'm not sure why he was tucking in so far allowing space for RSL to get crosses in from the wing. And then going forward there were at least 2-3 times where he continue his run and wasted good passes from Mix and Ballouchy. A complete waste. I don't want to see him start again. And that doesn't mean I'd like to see RJ Allen either.
Facey pinching tight isnt why we lost last night, it was a lucky bounce off Sandoval's head to set up Stertzer and bad marking in the middle to allow Saborio to score on a header

One thing I see so often is people taking the occasional substitute appearance of a player and anoint them as superstars. It's as if you have seen them play 90' on a regular basis AND you have exclusive access to training. Sure, this guy looked great in his 15' appearance at the end of a game against a tired team bunkering down, the coach should be fired for not starting him.
When I see people say things like this, I immediately realize that they have near zero technical knowledge of the game and can basically write off all future comments by them as worthless.

I anointed him as a superstar? Please tell me where I did that? Because I said he was worthy of being subbed on when we were 2 down and had absolutely nothing going for us?

When our team looks this shitty and then we even add on to the shit with our substitutes because they suck (velasquez)/replacing people who play different positions (Mac)/ getting a defensive sub on 80 minutes late (brandt) so Wingert can get a clap from the RSL fans... then yes bringing Poku on would make sense. That doesnt mean I think hes a fucking super star. He has potential and has contributed more in some of his 15 minute spells than a lot of our ghost players on the field.

So congrats for posting this useless drivel and reaffirming my opinion that your a total jackass. I look forward to see you post one analysis of any game or player worth anything. Please amaze us with your "Technical Knowledge" that I clearly am lacking.

I would love for you to enlighten me on what I clearly dont know? What is your takeaway from the game? Does Kreis deserve an ounce of blame? Reyna? Justify the substitutions at least please do that since that was the majority of my post you probably didnt read. Give me a detailed justification for those 3 subs and show the world your technical knowledge.

I see a lot of people throwing shit at Villa. While I'm not 100% sticking up for him, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He is doing as much as he can, maybe !? Let's remember he really doesn't speak the language. He can actually only communicate with a handful of players that may or may not be on the pitch with him. It's frustrating but we'll get there.

Subbing off wingert so he could get a clap off from the home crowd was the final straw for me with kreis. That was bullshit. You are not even trying. You hand picked this team.
Yeah, that's false.

Considering how stupidly restrictive the MLS roster building policies are, it's a major, major struggle to build a team from scratch.

Add to that the 2.5 missing DPs we've had, and the injury issues with two of our better expansion draft picks in George John and Tony Taylor, and this team was going to suck.

He was handed a shit hand of cards and has been asked to play pretty soccer with it. I genuinely believe that this is the best we can do with this roster, and while I'm very, very frustrated, I'm not mad with Kreis or Reyna. This is on CFG.

I think we can all agree the roster construction was a disaster. Who we blame is subjective and based on conjecture since we don't know who made what decision.

I think the Brandt sub was more than to just get Wingert a clap. I think he's close to starting Brandt back there and needed to get a look at him in live action.

I just don't get the subs at all. You take off two forwards to bring on two midfielders and you're down a goal. And they make absolutely NO impact on the game. Not a single substitution made us even a smidgen better.
If you're going to take a forward off maybe bring in Nemec and change to a 4-4-2.
Bring in poku and let him run at the defense like he has been every time he's been subbed on.

That I don't but I have eyes and we created 1 clear cut scoring chance and that was Villas pass to Jacobsen. You had the shot off the post by mix I believe it was but that's it. The entire game. A team that literally inches it's way to the 18 yard box and then has no idea what to do from there.

And of course Jacobsen stays on after that spectacle.

I agree with the posts above about the subs. Really perplexing, but for me the fact that Kreis continues to play people out of position is even more perplexing. I mean, he starts a back 4 of Brovsky, Wingert, Hernandez and Facey (and based on our extremely limited roster I have no problem with that) but 3 of the 4 are out of position AGAIN. How hard is it to see that Wingert cannot play CB - full stop. Brovsky, as much as we love his hipster persona, is very limited especially at LB. Too bad Wingert can't play LB, oh wait that's his natural position. And Facey has said numerous times that he's more comfortable at CB. Too bad the coach isn't listening.

maybe he's still tinkering?

maybe he's still tinkering?

How much "tinkering" does he need. This should be tinkered with in practice and preseason not in season matches. It doesnt take genius to play people in position. I understand the roster is limited so hes excused for some but he plays way too many people out of position to justify it all.

Tinker with players not fucking positions. We have to waste Calle at LB because he keeps on playing Wingert as a CB and it clearly doesn't fucking work. I probably have 50+ posts complaining about CB Wingert.
