Yeah, it could get very interesting especially if Risa is out as well. I assume if Risa can't go we will get CB Sands and a Parks/Perea midfield but who knows?
McFarlane is a LB so I assume it would be a start in place of O'toole. Looked like OT left with a head injury, do we know if he's out of the Miami game, or are people just speculating?
It's possible it was just about a reduction in his role but I find it especially hard to believe in Chanots case. Chanot showed no signs of discontent when the team used a DP spot to bring Martins in to start over him at the start of a season earlier in his career. Why would he then get mad...
We got Wolf and the honor of blowing all our Taty money on two 18-year-old CFG prospect investments who are not ready and have had zero impact through 5 games. How many more games of zero contributions from Jovan and Ojeda before we can start admitting that they were picked for CFG not because...
I keep seeing Santi at the 9, did everyone forget how horrible that went in the games we did that last season? Santi just played his best game of the season and possibly one of his best NYCFC games ever. I'd rather we stick with what's working and play someone else at the 9, Ojeda, Jones...
This seems like a decent situation for Cushing. Given how short-handed we are you can't really pin a loss on Cushing as it's almost expected in this one. A gritty win on the other hand will show that the team is together and ready to fight and could abe seen as a positive for Cushing.
FC Cincinnati sits at 2W-2D-0L through 4 games with a 1.61 xG and 1.17 xGA. Compared to NYCFCs 1.33 xG and 1.23 xGA Cincinnati creates more chances and allows fewer chances than us. Cincinnati also averages under 49% possession so I expect they will let us have as much of the ball as we want...
I can't figure out what they base the information on but Transfermarket lists RB as an alternate position for Strahinja so hopefully, we can start him there and stick with our normal formation.
Given Cushing's tendency to always take the more defensive option, I bet that starting Jasson means...
Going to be some interesting lineup decisions. With no Parks are we getting RB Sands and a Haak/Perera midfield? Are we getting RB Jasson?
I also really hope we get our first Jovan start because if we don't and Cushing does one of his weird Santi at CF lineups I don't know what to think about...
I'm not 100% sure that it was the right move. I felt like it was overkill to put both Gray and Haak on for attackers. It worked out but there is some argument for subbing on an attacker to act as an outlet and press high to slow the TFC build-up. Jasson could have filled that roll perfectly...
I don't think you are wrong that the mindset is similar to an NBA process-type rebuild but I honestly never understood the comparison. Draft picks in the NBA are by far the most powerful roster-building mechanism. Being bad in the NBA provides a team with the rewards of high draft picks so it...
I think this is spot on. From the recent discussions on the forums, I think we have a wide spectrum of opinion as to what kind of project this is and where CFGs priorities lie but I think everyone agrees it is a longer-term project based on how they built the roster. I think your comment is...
I continue to be impressed with perera. He looked sharp yesterday and made a number of key plays to help kill off the game after the red. Excited to see a sands perera pairing next week.
Last year Toronto averaged -0.97 GD per game and finished last in the east. They currently sit tied on points for 1st in the east with a +0.67 average GD through the first 3 games. Only 3 games but this might be a different Toronto team. Hopefully, our guys are ready to go.
That's an interesting thing to admit given that he's been with the team since at least the final preseason game on February 17th. He knew he was in the process of being transferred so he had the incentive to try to stay fit over his break yet after a full month of training he's 60-70%, that...
I wonder what his feelings towards the fanbase are and if that would impact his willingness to consider it. If I recall correctly he always seemed annoyed about the animosity he got from the fanbase for how things went down. To me it always came off like he didn't understand why anyone was up...
