Why would MCFC have a need to circumvent FFP - they are operating comfortably within its limits these days? Assigning the cost of a few coaches and admin staff to CFG is irrelevant in the scheme of things.
Convention would say that Miami would have to pay compensation but, I don’t think this story has legs. Vieira is being heavily linked with the Arsenal job so a move back stateside is unlikely at this stage.
The NYCFC franchise is costing CFG money so I can’t quite follow the logic that NYCFC is subsidising MCFC, more likely it is the reverse - one franchise is profitable the other is not.
I don’t think it’s addressing a US audience - it’s a straight lift from the FT article. As a Brit I’d confirm this means an undefined loss on turnover of $40m - which sounds incredibly low and is less than 1/10 of MCFC.
I think the culture of the Middle East - is to say nothing until something is done. So when - and it’s a big when any deal is done - it will likely have the I’s dotted and the ts‘s crossed before CFG say anything.
