I've been watching CCL since 2009 and this is the first time I can recall seeing all MLS clubs versus all LigaMX clubs at this stage.

Obviously, MLS clubs go in with the huge disadvantage of both games being in their pre-season...

DC United and LA galaxy have the best shot

Seattle depends on which America decides to show up and how Seattle looks post martins

I was watching the DC preseason game over the weekend and they are going to have to get lucky to move on. The announcers were estimating the starters were going to have about 75 minutes of pre-season game time before the first CCL game. Without Hamid to bail them out of mistakes I think DC is toast.

i forgot hamid is out for 6 months? eek thats bad. still. queretaro has been meh so far this tournament. though their coach is the same coach that made monterrey champions.

Poor RSL is going to get smacked.

you would think so but ferretti tends to always use his bench players/ a couple of kids for all the CCL, but if real salt lake start with wingert  then yes it may be over in the first leg.

CCL is back today. Feels like the soft opening of the MLS schedule. Excited to see Seattle in action tonight. I'm also assuming Duece's USOC suspension has no bearing on the CCL.

The Seattle-America game will be great.

That said, I can't wait until they move this tournament to take place over a calender year. The rumors of this change were swirling last September, but it's been quiet since.

The format would be 8 group stage qualifiers and 16 teams playing a two-leg preliminary round right now. Likely the Open Cup and Canadian Championship would be playing their first leg of the preliminary round today, and probably a third US/Canada qualifier as well depending if we get 2 or 3 automatic spots in the group stage.

A little over an hour and DC United get to take on Luis Gil and Jonathan Bernstein!

EDIT: Gil is cap tied to RSL for CCL. And that's what happens when a tournament rolls over 2 seasons...

Yep, really dumb.

Glad to hear they're going to switch to a spring to fall format possibly.

DC's communication isn't there yet because of it being the first game of the season.

DC doing pretty damn well. Have Queretaro on their heels last 5-10 minutes or so.

Queretaro is struggling mightily this season. The fact that DC are still in the game might have something to do with that.

Espindola should have put that last rebound through

Landed in KC today and none of the games are broadcast at the hotel.
They don't have FoxSports or Univision Deportes at the hotel? Most places have at least one of those two channels now.

Game tied at 0 after a half that Saw DCU as the better of the two teams.
