2017 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target

I would really love to know the story with Villa and Ryan Meara. I remember there was a picture of a fan lookalike with Wingert and Villa and Meara were bantering back and forth

Anyone else think it was a little odd they did the American national anthem but not the Canadian one or the Spanish one?

Well, he actually messed up the national anthem. He said "For the land and the free." It's "For the land of the free."

But yes, Canadian national anthem should have been sung. Spanish, no.

Honestly. Great game. Pretty end to end. For those begging for east vs west... never going to happen. There were 62k in attendance tonight. Ultimately the ASG is not for MLS fans, but for euro soccer fans in the US. I'd say tonight was a great success for everyone involved. Soldier Field is a fantastic venue. Can't wait to stuff my face with deep dish pizza tomorrow. No matter how much grief I get from all you New Yorkers :)

Also try the Chicago-style thin crust!!!! Go to Lou Malnati's or Gino's East for deep dish, Giordano's for the thin crust. And get an Italian Beef at Al's or Portillo's.

I posted this in the chatbox or whatever its called, but I'm pretty sure the MLS goal would have been overturned via VAR as the rebound off the post redirected off of Gio's arm before Dwyer headed it home.

It was an entertaining match end-to-end. Real Madrid clearly had a ton more chances, but it was a fun match to watch.

Ball to hand.
But it clearly changed directions to right in front of Dwyer.

Additionally (and this isn't really directed at you as I've heard this a lot), I don't really understand the ball to hand rule. Out of the handballs I've witnessed, maybe 2-3 have been hand to ball and not ball to hand, the Suarez hand ball against Ghana being an example of that. Our PK against Orlando was ball to hand as a reverse example.

As I understand it, if your arm/hand is in a natural stationary position against your body, and the ball hits it, that's fine. But if your arm/hand is held outward, for any reason (running, balance, etc), then the ball hitting it will be called whether there was movement of the arm/hand or not.
