2017 MLS Cup Playoffs

I bought during the STH presale and was able to pick a seat. Ticket is avaiable in my account manager for printing and mobile entry.
I bought mine last night and was able to choose my seats. I do not see a print at home or eticket option. It says it is going to mail the tickets 10-14 days before the event. Now I'm a little nervous....
Sounds like STs can get etickets but not anyone else. And I'll tell my friend that someone else managed to be able to pick seats, not that it helps him: just means either he couldn't figure it out or he was randomly and unfairly screwed. But it still is better to have the info; thanks.

FWIW, I know that if the ticketing system gets bogged down with volume, it spits out a more “generic” portal for selection. That’s how I got screwed buying my MNT/CRC tickets and couldn’t select the exact seats (was forced to take Best Available).

I think that's what happened to my friend. I checked today, did not sign into my account and even used a different browser. It let me pick seats and offered eTickets. I think my buddy just went in at the wrong time.

Is anyone else worried that we will get blown out in the first round of our playoffs again? The team has not filled me with much confidence lately and PV keeps making really weird choices for subs and starters.

This is what happened to me. I bought additional seats exactly at 10am on Monday during STH pre-sale and it only allowed me to purchase Best Available at a given price point. I hate that.

Lose, yes-but blown out, no.

Not that I think we will lose, but of course I am worried about it. But I think this a better balanced team then last year. And probably just a better team overall. We sure as hell have a much better keeper this time around.

The lack of secondary scoring later on in the year has me worried as does our propensity for mental errors

Remember that last year we went into the playoffs on great form, riding high, and having never lost to Toronto. And that obviously didn't work out so well for us.

Damn we suck at MLS polls.

The question is who do you want to host MLS Cup. Only 9 of the 12 teams are possible, since 3 teams in the West have fewer points than every team in the East. We are currently in sixth with 3.09%. Obviously, almost every vote is by hometown fans. Seattle is in first with 34% even though they can only host if they play the Red Bulls. Portland is third with 17% even though they too can only host if they play the Red Bulls. That's a majority of the votes for 2 teams with almost no real chance of actually hosting. We are ahead of only Chicago, the Red Bulls and Vancouver. Atlanta has 20%. No MLS fans like Atlanta right now except its hometown fans. But damn they turn out.
Columbus has 4.78% and they probably got every independent vote.

A recurring theme in articles about this year's playoffs is that SJ has a -21 GD, the worst in history, and that they snuck in ahead of Dallas because the first tiebreaker is wins and not GD. The Dallas GD is zero, which ain't great but is 21 better than SJ. But SJ has 2 more wins.
I say too bad Dallas. I want to see teams win games and we should make the incentive to be to win games. SJ has 2 more wins. Dallas has 6 more ties. Dallas tied 13 times altogether. No wonder their GD is 0. Who wants to watch a team that drew 38% of its games?

Good for the Quakes.

If we had an SSS in NYC, I wonder how the poll would swing. I can't tell if this is baseball stadium hate or just NYCFC hate. That being said, Portland, Seattle, and Atlanta are huge online voters in MLS.

We'll never win an internet award. David Villa's 53.5 yard chip didn't win Goal of the Week and honestly, I don't think it will even win Goal of the Year given how people vote against us.

I think this poll is driven entirely by hometown votes and the neutral votes are statistical noise. I agree that lots of fans hate the baseball field. But I think if you removed all neutral votes from this poll it would have minimal effect. The only difference would be Columbus would drop because right now its getting some pity votes. NYC, RB, and Fire fans just don't show up in MLS online polls.

So, of course, knowing all those factors, PV decided to completely change our game plan for the road leg in Toronto and expected a shitty defensive team to shut out their scary-ass offense.

Hivemind is going to say something unpopular with the hivemind.

Hivemind would love to face Redbull in the Eastern conference finals. We can beat them. Excitement and attendance would be high, and it would be easy to get to both legs.

Go Redbull!

As long as Columbus beats Atlanta.

Unless Columbus pulls off the upset...
Seems unlikely since Columbus doesn’t have a competent centerback in the team.

Almiron will make them shit their pants and Josef will shove those stanky drawers on their head with those whacky turnovers CLB have during 90% of their attacks.
