2018 CONCACAF Champions League

It is 100% the American first division, sanctioned as such by FIFA and US Soccer.

Canadian teams are allowed the same way Monaco is allowed in Ligue 1. It’s via exception granted by FIFA.

ETA: Shirley

i think thats the case because Monaco is not a FIFA/UEFA member though, so they dont care

I mean, it may not be the same exemption/exception, but it is an exception/exemption of some sort. That's all I mean.

Didn't expect my post about wanting Toronto to succeed because it is good for MLS which is therefore good for American soccer to spiral to this lol.

If it comes down to Toronto verses Tigres in the final with Toronto starting at least 6 Americans (how they normally do), I will absolutely be happy for American soccer, MLS, and Toronto, and I guess Canadian soccer by association. It is good for everyone if Liga MX's reign of dominance stops.

Its only in the US where we have another nation's team's as part of our top flight sports.

...except for in England
...and France
...and Switzerland
...and the Republic of Ireland

Those are just the top flight leagues I can think of off the top of my head that have foreign teams playing in them. I'm sure there are more around the world.

Uh, Spain :)

Draw occurred yesterday. Sounders draw Santa Tecla from El Salvador, NJ draws Olimpia from Honduras, TFC draws Colorado, FC Dallas draws Tauro from Panama.

Those are gonna be some cold, cold matches at the end of February. Toronto or New Jersey outdoors? Dress warm folks.
