2018 Forum H2H League & Pigeon Cup

Right. Everyone reupped automatically and the league is set with 14.

Its very different to make a lineup with $100M
I think they set prices too high, especially at the solid but unexceptional range. Forget the stars. With 15 players you average $6.7 per guy. With those parameters you should be able to find 4-6 players at $4.5 to $5.5 -- probably mostly keepers and defenders -- who might not be individually good but are almost certain to start, and on respectable home teams, to have a bit of flexibility elsewhere. There just ain't that many.

I only found a couple of players in the whole thing that seemed like they represented value.

Back to four 4.0 backups...

Its the same concept as the start of the season but they are able to predict who is getting minutes much better now than they could 2 weeks before the kickoff of the first game (or whenever they actually launched). This week is a challenge -- especially with our game overlapping most of the rest of the slate.

After you tell me what your great idea is, I will let you know if I am going to steal it …..

I really hate the budget reset. And some players are costlier than before the spring season. Tinnerholm was originally $4 and now he’s $7. That’s a lot for only $100 to work with.

putting Mabiala in defense was a swing decision, but it seems to have worked out nicely, I'm surprised!
;3
However, I put way too much faith into Dallas forwards to route SJ.

Pigeon Cup Round 4 Results and Standings

The closest match of the week occurred in Group A where my Berget's Beard squeaked by Ariaga 74-70. Benedico Pluvias and Choo Choo Hat swapped Pigeon Cup fortunes as Choo Choo Hat prevailed 73-47. Benedico Pluvias stays in 1st place in the group with the tiebreaker and all 4 teams can still advance to the knockout round.
Group A

Benedico 9pts 419
Berget 9pts 414
Ariaga 3pts 351
Choo Choo 3pts 334

Group B

3 Piece Suit Ultras continue their climb up the group standings with an 85-68 win over SoupInNYC. DitmasFC moves into first place in the group with a 65-57 win over NYCFC Forums. Everybody in Group C can still advance.

Ditmas FC 9pts 362
3 Piece Suit 6pts 401
SoupInNYC 6pts 388
NYCFC Forums 3pts 320

Group C

Viewfrom226 switched his team name from Quite Really Pleased to Pretty Pineapple and proceeded to be the top scorer of the round dispatching Malinska 93-67. In the other match of the group Welcome to the Zungul has Funky Cold Jesus Medina on the ropes with a narrow 89-80 win.

Welcome 12pts 450
Pretty Pineapple 6pts 436
Malinska 6pts 400
Funky 0pts 384

After 4 rounds of group play no team has secured advancement to the knockout round and every team can still advance. Round 5 is likely to have some teams securing advancement and more knockouts. [EDIT: Funky Cold Jesus Medina can still advance with wins over Pretty Pineapple and Malinska, making up point differential and Welcome to the Zungul winning out]

Group A matchups for Round 5 this week are Benedico Pluvias and Bergets Beard battling for 1st in the group. While Ariaga and Choo Choo both need 3 points to have a chance to stay alive in the Cup.

Group B matchups see 3 Piece Suit Ultras face off against NYCFC Forums while Ditmas looks to advance to the knockout round with a win over SoupInNYC.

Group C sees Malinska facing off against group leader Welcome to the Zungul while Funky Cold Jesus Medina needs 3 points to survive against Pretty Pineapple.

I hate in the h2h leagues when you just get bad luck and score more points than teams that finish higher than you.

That's not at all what happened to me -- I had the lowest point total in my group -- I just hate when that happens.

Pigeon Cup Round 5 Results and Standings (X=Advanced to knockout round, Y=Group Winner)

Berget's Beard took over the Group lead and guaranteed a spot in the knockout round with an 80-67 win over Benedico Pluvias. Ariaga got a critical 3 points with a 75-48 win over Choo Choo Hat.

Berget 12pts 493 (X)
Benedico 9pts 487
Ariaga 6pts 427
Choo Choo 3pts 383 [Edit]

In the final round of group play Choo Choo Hat FC needs to beat Berget's Beard to have any chance of moving on to the knockout round while Benedico Pluvias and Ariaga II have a critical matchup. Either of these teams could be out of the Cup with a loss but Benedico has a big edge with the tiebreaker.

In Group B, NYCFC Forums got a critical win against 3 Piece Suit Ultras 65-61 to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout round alive. SoupInNYC prevailed in a narrow 81-75 win over Ditmas to leap from 3rd place to 1st place in the group.

SoupInNYC 9pts 469
Ditmas FC 9pts 397
3 Piece Suit 6pts 463
NYCFC Forums 6pts 385

All 4 teams in Group B could advance to the knockout round or be knocked out of the cup in group play but SoupInNYC is in good shape to advance because of the tiebreakers. It will all come down to the final week of group play. 3 Piece Suit Ultras face Ditmas FC while SoupInNYC meet NYCFC Forums.

Congrats to JayH JayH our top scorer of the week whose Welcome to the Zungul prevailed over Malinska FC 86-70 and guaranteed first place in Group C. The closest match of the week was also in this Group as Pretty Pineapple eked out a 69-67 win over Funky Cold Jesus Medina knocking them out of the Cup.

Welcome 15pts 536 (X Y)
Pretty Pineapple 9pts 505
Malinska 6pts 470
Funky 0pts 451

The final round has Malinska looking for a critical 3 points to advance to the knockout round against Funky Cold Jesus Medina while Pretty Pineapple looks to advance and keep Welcome to the Zungul from going undefeated with a strong showing in the final group game.

Right now the knockout seedings are:

1) Welcome to the Zungul
2) Bergets Beard
3) SoupInNYC
4) Pretty Pineapple
5) Benedico Pluvias
6) Ditmas FC
7) Malinska
8) 3 Piece Suit Ultras

But the final 6 knockout spots and final seedings will all depend on the final round of games this week. Good luck!

What is the next round of matches in the Pigeon Cup? Is the final group matches this fantasy week?

HOLY SHIT I WON?! I stopped checking going in to Orlando game since I was down 30

Wait.. I lost 67-65. They must have done a lot of point edits overnight.
