Berget's Beard took over the Group lead and guaranteed a spot in the knockout round with an 80-67 win over Benedico Pluvias. Ariaga got a critical 3 points with a 75-48 win over Choo Choo Hat.

Berget 12pts 493 (X)
Benedico 9pts 487
Ariaga 6pts 427
Choo Choo 3pts 384

In Group B, NYCFC Forums got a critical win against 3 Piece Suit Ultras 65-61 to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout round alive. SoupInNYC prevailed in a narrow 81-75 win over Ditmas to leap from 3rd place to 1st place in the group.

SoupInNYC 9pts 469
Ditmas FC 9pts 397
3 Piece Suit 6pts 463
NYCFC Forums 6pts 385

Sabo Sabo If it's not too much hassle, could you please update the overall point totals for the group. I believe there was a late update and error.

Did Ditmas FC really have 75? I'm only showing 35... Berget's Beard had 79, not 80. Ariaga is 76, not 75. Choo Choo train had 49, not 48. 3 Piece Suit Ultras has 62, not 61.

No problem.

I did the narrative based on the preliminary scores (except I misread Ditmas score) and then thought I changed the narrative later in the day when the scores became final but those edits didn't happen.

The standings were based on the final scores. I went back and double checked everybody's total score for the 5 rounds and everything is correct except Choo Choo Hat had 1 point too many. I am editing the table in the earlier post.

Attached is my scratch sheet so everyone can double check. Scores from the first 3 rounds are on the left. Scores from the last 2 rounds are on the right and circled.

Good catch.

omg Lletget was a last minute change by me and he got me 14 points. Was absolutely not expecting that! :O

Psst SoupInNYC SoupInNYC might want to take Alessandrini out of your lineup
So I haven't really played the subs game at all this season, how exactly does this work? Because it's not giving me the option to sub him out (those buttons aren't appearing for me).

I also happened to stash Jackson from Colorado on my bench who has 12 points (total luck, was just looking to put a $4.0 forward on my bench). He's a forward, and Alessandrini is a midfielder, but Jackson for Alessandrini would still result in a compliant formation (4-3-3).

So do I just need to make sure my other bench players don't play in order for Jackson to auto-sub for Alessandrini?

Like I told Shwafta, scores are doubled right now so Jackson actually got 6. That sucks that the game won't let you replace Alessandrini but yeah, he'll just be a very expensive scrub at the end of the week and Jackson or whoever will get autosubbed in for him.

PS - I highly recommend using subs as much as possible, it makes a huge difference with this game design. Even if you've got better things to do with your weekend than monitor lineups, an autoroo or two is usually a good idea.

Once a team plays you cant sub them out of your team or switch positions. No Galaxy or Colorado switches now but you can change everyone else. I took an RSL defender out for an Orlando defender with a bye week to make sure Ashley Cole goes into my starters after he had an 8 point game last night.

can you elaborate what you mean by autoroo? Is that what Sabo Sabo said above?

I don't necessarily have better things to do, but other things are being done.

What are the matchups this week?
It looks like you didn't realize there were mid-week games Dan.

After the first round of the DGW the preliminary scores are:

Group A Berget 71 Choo Choo 32 Ariaga 79 Benedico Pluvias 49

Group B 3 Piece Suit 83 Ditmas 31 SoupInNYC 61 NYCFC Forums 5

Group C Malinska 88 Funky Cold 48 Welcome to the Zungul 52 Pretty Pineapple 45

If these Results hold the group winners will be Berget, Soup In NYC and #1 seed Welcome to the Zungul, and there will be 6 teams on 9 points (Benedico, Ariaga, Ditmas, 3 Piece Suit, Pretty Pineapple and Malinska) who will claim the remaining 5 knockout spots based on total points during the group stage of the Cup. The top 5 point totals would advance in this scenario.
