Left Out?

I wonder if the Will Ferrell picture annoyed PV. It seems like the kind of thing that he would view as continuing immaturity.
I would hope Vieira is mature enough to not care. Will Ferrell is a comedic god and for most people they may have a single chance to meet him, if that. How many times did Vieira trade jerseys with the “enemy” during his career?

A professional soccer player’s focus should be on playing professional soccer rather than comedic gods (Will Ferrell and god?!?) especially when they are out of favor. If PV had excluded Ring or Chanot from the 18 because they played poorly last game do you think either would have posted a picture with Will Ferrell? No chance. Trading jerseys with the enemy is a tradition, and that means that you actually played.

Meeting a partowner of a team sounds super immature . If this was some old white guy in a suit, no one would have even commented.

I am looking at it from PV’s perspective which could be clouded by some irrational and unreasonable, which is the way Lewis should look at it. If PV thinks he’s immature rightfully or wrongfully, it may be in his best interest to treat a business trip like a business trip. The goal is to play, right?

Thank you for pointing this out. “Sweatinho” does a couple of dribbles and hits a nice cross or two but he is a huge liability defensively. It’s as if people are blinded by the “ooh” moments but he is a turnstile on that side. Watch him 1-1, the defender is getting that cross off. Watch him pressure the ball at the top of the 18; that ball is being served in.

It’s not a coincidence that Bradley told his team to consistently build through that side of the field.

More often than not its Callens going 1-1 on that side, pulled out of position because Sweat is just starting his run back from the top of the opposition's 18.

Hes been watching too much Marcelo.

What the fuck does his race have to do with it? If Ferrell were Black or Asian or whatever would JayH JayH's point (which I'm not sure I buy) or yours be different? And Will Ferrell is old?

I really hope Claudio Reyna didn’t say hi to Mia Hamm, because that would be excessive engagement with the enemy.

My comments had nothing to do with whether Will Ferrell is associated with LAFC or the "enemy". My comments had to do with a banished kid whose coach (allegedly) thinks is immature scrapbooking game day celeb shots on social media. As far as I saw, no one else posted similar pictures. I personally don't feel strongly about it. But PV, who has a propensity to be sensitive may (or may not, that's why I posed it as a question). Lewis has to be ultra self-aware given his predicament for his own sake given his current circumstances (even if it's a matter of dealing with a flawed boss). I want to see the kid on the field.

I think you are overreacting. A majority of MLS owners are of the generic old white guy billionaire business type. That's just a fact. The race point that you are harping on was not even the major point I was making. Sorry if I touched on a nerve.

Will Ferrell and the LAFC ownership group is not typical or generic. If this picture was taken with anyone that was an owner of an MLS team and not a celebrity like Bill McGuire or Andrew Hauptmann we wouldn't even be having this conversation. We are having this conversation because who Will Ferrell is.

Maybe PV has so banished Lewis that the kid knows nothing he does can change the situation, much like Mix. Maybe Lewis was giving Will Ferrell his CV and asked if a trade would be possible? Or maybe it was just a harmless picture. Who knows??? But honestly, if PV gets upset over the photo, and there wasn’t a prior directive to the team against scrapbooking with a celebrity, then I hope Lewis is networking for a trade because he deserves way more of an opportunity to play than what PV has shown him. Training isn’t everything, hell, Mo Salah has self proclaimed to put in 5% effort in training to save himself for matches; Lewis is no Salah, but Lewis registered points at nearly a point/90 last season.
