Oh boy. Calico Jacks is so close to work, but... I'm not sure I really want to go there since I hate it so much.

You guys still happy with NYC signings after seeing what Toronto did? They are out performing us again?

Yup. They're outperforming everyone. They should be 70+, us and Atlanta at 60+.

Last three spots will be between Chicago, Red Bulls, Montreal, and Orlando.

Columbus, Philly, DCU, and New England are really going to struggle this year.

With the top teams starting to outpace the rest of the league, I wonder if they'll slow down the upper limit and start putting in mechanisms to help the rest of the league catch up. I don't know exactly what those are, but it has to be worrying if they didn't intend to abandon parity.

You're going to see more money come in. The league will spend the Nashville and Cincy/Sacramento/Detroit expansion fees in the form of TAM

I get they kept all their players and gained Van der Weil which is big, but who did they really sign besides that?

I think their XI is the best in the league, but we might be a little deeper than them.

Going back to last year, I think a lot of us thought that our best XI could keep up with their best XI (assuming full health), but that TFC was a ton deeper than us.

They did lose two wingbacks (Edwards, Beitashour). Given how important wingbacks are to their 3ATB system, they could be in trouble if Morrow or Hasler go down for an extended period.

They have also stated they are still in the market for more TAM signings. So they may not even be done.
All these time we thought we would become the biggest spender but guess not. If Toronto wins a treble again I am going to be really mad at NYCFC management.
Can we sign Torres please?

Sign Torres on a TAM contract.

It doesn't feel like we will be pioneers, but it also doesn't feel like losing is an option. I'm generally OK with that.

I honestly believe NYCFC is doing the best they can to get a trophy this season. They've made some risky moves (Medina), some good depth moves (Salaam, Cedric the defender, Tajouri), and some moves that really need to work (Tinnerholm and Berget). This has been a much busier offseason than anyone expected, and it certainly seems like we're bringing in better players than we ever had before.

It may fail, but not for a lack of effort, and I think blaming them if things don't work out would probably be unduly harsh unless there are extenuating circumstances during the season.

Just learning about Van Der Weil, would have taken him here if for no other reason than I have an Ajax shirt with him on the back from when I went to Amsterdam a few years back.

Sounds like he wasn't happy with compete level in Mexico.

Back-to-basics is normally coach-speak for, "Next time I see those guys I'm going to kick their asses in training."
But I thought there was nothing to take away from that? At least, that what I was told.

Can't be that PV also saw it was total shit, could it?

Too bad no one there to whip him into shape.
