official now, loan till September 1st? Wha? people shitting on MLS will hate this, like putting a pitcher on rehab reassignment for few days at minor league team
Yeah not sure I've ever heard of a two-week loan. Weird. Would we even have heard about it if that pic didn't surface on Reddit?
quick check says five games from now till then, perhaps they are so thin they need players badly and asked for favor.
I wonder if Dome has played a role in the loans? He has taken a look at folks, assessed current and future needs, and made some recommendations as to players who need more game reps (either because he knows he can't play them in the near term and/or, for example, in Sands' case knows he may want to use him in the near-ish term).
Yup -- that's exactly what came to mind for me. Remember, we have two triple game weeks in September, so our depth is going to be tested. Definitely reads like Dome wants to get him fresh for the stretch run and the busy end of season.

I would have agreed with you until I saw his performance in Yankee Stadium a few weeks back.
I've seen Joe Bendik have a similar performance or two at Yankee Stadium as well.
By that logic SJ should be like #2 or #3 here too based on this season's performance.
Also, I don't see why Edgar Castillo doesn't get any love at all. Or maybe I am biased because Colorado is the kind of team you only watch highlights of, and he scores golazos. But when they played against us he seemed to be head and shoulders above his teammates. He seems to be very good technically. I wouldn't be sad if we tried to pry him off Colorado after his loan finishes.
Edgar Castillo is a player that seems to excel at club ball and flounder at the national level. He is physically outplayed all the time and his offensive forays don’t seem to jive with what the rest of the team is doing. I like the guy except when I’ve seen him suit up for the NT.

I actually think Sean does deserve a look with the national team. In the post Tim Howard world, there are not a ton of good American keepers at the moment. Guzan, Johnson, Hamid, Steffen are probably the guys who should be in the mix right now. I'm sure I'm missing someone and I'll be mocked for it, but those are the guys I'm thinking of off the top of my head.
Horvath is thrown out there a lot and probably for good reason, but I really haven't watched much of him playing, so I can't speak to that.
Bono had a rough game against us, and I have been a long time skeptic as people have called for him on the USMNT, but I was impressed by him during TFC's CCL run, as well as the few USMNT callups he has gotten. I think I may have discounted some of his previous play, because he always has this look on his face like he just woke up. But I think he's in that group as well.
Guzan is a guy who excels at club level for a team that outclasses the competition in front of him and protects him against vicious shots. He’s a disaster on an average club team and similarly bad for the MNT because the opposition routinely has players that can create shots that expose his positioning and reactions. It’s time to move past him and focus on the future.
I would tweak this a bit and say there are a ton of good keepers in the pool. Figuring out which of those might be very good and have a chance at being great is the real challenge.

Yes, but the roughest spot is AM, where Doyle recommends playing Pulisic out of position just because there are no credible alternatives. When you compare the lack of a "number 10" with the amount of promising young strikers, wingers, DMs, and box-to-box, it's quite concerning.
Just remember, if we fail to qualify for the World Cup again and Pulisic continued his development, he can still switch to Croatia...
