2018 Roster Discussion

Selling him is exactly the strategy that Atlanta has based their youth signings on. They may feel they can get a better offer for Almiron and Martinez and this are holding on, but this is a solid offer for Medina after half a season. Buy low sell higher and maximize GAM. Remove yourself from the equation on a personal level and it’s a no-brainer.

Yes. This would be confirmation that the blueprint works.

eh we did get brillant out of that , berget is up for debate to me still, nemec was bad. but i see what you saying. i just done want to give up talent easily without trying to convince them, if their mind is made up then there is nothing to do.

If ring was english? probably be lower prem team or more likely the championship
Not sure why you included Brillant in this post.

What's interesting, is the current narrative that Medina feels more comfortable playing under Dome, partly due to his coaching style and partly due to playing for a Spanish speaking head coach. And this would end up sending him right back to PV, haha.

he said european scouting, i was giving examples of players were so so or not good from europe for nycfc

How many European failures have we had since 2016? Don’t count the first year because that was a clusterfuck and the rules were different.

Berget TBD

You could throw Struna in there who did a job I think too. We find under utilized parts and turn them into effective mls pieces.

lmao now you want to move goal posts. were only 4 years old everyone of them counts no matter what cluster fuck it was. Its not like I was comparing something from 10 years ago. we think tmac should not be in 18 yet he still is there potentially blocking lewis, so you still feel effects from first year.

Again, not sure why you included Brillant in that

because he was brought from europe from our scouting network. its no guarantee everyone of them will be great. lately gotten better but i dont think all in all we can just replace tinnerholm and Isi just like that as K Kjbert assumes

Timeout. The roster rules changed for 2016. It’s entiret fair to judge our success post Kreis, post TAM, post Atlanta, post new cap changes.

What was the last European mistake?

Then name the last mistake. It’s been 4 years.

Other TBDs would include Amagat and Hountondji. Though I'm not sure Amagat really fits this same grouping.

Good post. I think Amagat should count in that grouping. Dome is part of our scouting network too as the manager. PV was.

Do you think he’s overpaid or do you think he’s not good?

both....but i think his pay is what makes it worse. I still think his first touch is not good. I still think he does not use his size for his advantage, and feels clumsy in a lot of plays, we have wallace for that. He does make a good run here and there but it tends to be against bad teams like vs RSL, colorado, and a watered down Toronto ( at home). so still bad outweigh good, so bad signing to me.

maybe he is a player that needs consistent minutes as starter to get better but he just doesnt seem to work when villa is in field too because he seems to be forced to wing where is not meant to play.
