2018 Season Ticket Thread

Isn’t that what we are all asking?
Now that was saf (specious as f*ck).

You responding to a question I did not ask. That's the strawman, by the way.

The question I asked is, given that you have made the decision to get season tickets, why would you pay upfront when they offer a no fee payment plan that has the added benefit of being able to cancel any unpaid tickets?

You still pay ahead with installments. And those monies are still not refundable.

ETA: as it stands, I’ll have my 4 tickets paid for for next year.

After I rake them over that I’m not paying full price, but only $100 for the rest of the year since I moved all to tier 6, it may be 3 years.

If this is true, I am absolutely wrong, but I don't believe it to be true.

My understanding, after many conversations on the topic with the ticket office about the ticket transfer program, is that you can cancel unpaid tickets at any time.

They would not let me transfer out of a game I hadn't paid for yet because of this -- the only downside to the installment plan now that I think of it.

We should do a podcast.

The payments are actually a few months ahead of the match date.

The very fact that there is good reason to talk about cancelling because we overpaid is proof enough.

I exchanged emails with my rep and basically told her unless the price drops to less than resale value, I’m not renewing. She told me she kicked this up the ladder. I now have a meeting with her before the next home match and I expect there will be a charm offensive but I do not have high hopes.

You can. I don't think anyone is disputing that. But we have 10 home games left and because we have paid ahead we can only cancel probably 5-7 of them.

I don't know about everyone else, but as of tomorrow I'm 83% paid up, which amounts to 14 matches. I'm not cancelling with 3 matches left and playoffs ahead. I'm pot committed this season. But next year I'm downgrading. And I'm not saying I'll never get season tickets in YS outside of the SS in the future. But the club needs to show me something first, like tickets that are in line with market value and that can be easily resold if required. Not a high bar if you ask me.

How many of you thinking about canceling would stay in the plan if they promised to cancel the StubHub arrangement and went back to the resale program that existed the first 3 years?

I would. As long as I can upload my e-tickets to any site. That would mitigate the losses I face every week I can’t attend. I’m not in this for the money. But it’s dumb to lose $100 a game. And pay $100 a game, when I can go for $20 or sit in the same seats for $60. If I only lost $10-$20 per game I can’t make, I’d consider that a win at this point.

I think the real lesson here is to get season tickets in the less expensive sections. I think mine are $26 per game? Fine to miss a few games.

Why I’m transferring to SS. I don’t plan to sit there with my 6 year old. But I’ll eat the 1 ticket* (again a downgrade) if I can’t sell for some reason and just buy 2 somewhere else for below face.

*also assumes I can add on tickets to my plan in new stadium and hold my place in line with 1 ticket.

Yes, but I was told that you can still cancel any tickets you haven't paid for yet.
Also, to follow up on others’ points, if you moved to tier 6 because you got dumped on via netting, you’re essentially getting the same seat deal as the $100 offer, but you’ve already paid for the entire year plus at full boat.

This is my scenario. I’ve continued to be billed at tier 1 for 2 months that I couldn’t sit in my seats in tier 1. Then this crap comes along. It’s infuriating.
