The 2018 SuperDraft is happening on January 19th. NYCFC will have the 19th, 42nd, 65th, and 88th picks this year. The first two rounds take place live in Philadelphia, PA. The final two rounds take place via conference call the following week.

MLS announced its list of 60 players to the MLS Combine: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/12/21/mls-invites-initial-group-60-players-2018-combine

Two players to highlights are Jon Bakero (F, Wake Forest, Spain) and Arthur Bosua (F, Columbia, South Africa). Bakero is touted as better than Julian Gressel. Bosua played for Columbia so there's that NYC connection.

There will be more articles in the coming weeks as we approach the draft. And we're likely to do some wheeling and dealing on draft day as we have in the past since our academy players aren't MLS ready yet in terms of age and talent.

Ok, but Gressel wasn't really that touted coming out of college. So I'm not sure what that means.

Colorado has two top five picks. Expect one to be traded.

Colorado has two top five picks, in the second round.
Mock drafts have started. I’d take a 6’4 target forward from Columbia. As long as he doesn’t get called up to their national team.

Hey, I mentioned him in the original post. WOOHOO!

I can't find him being called up for South Africa U23, U21, or U20 teams. So I wouldn't imagine he gets called up. South Africa also has been terrible across all their national teams recently.

I was worried he’d be called up for Columbia.

You guys are just killing the joke. I give up.
Payback for the images evoked by you, tube rides, and Page 3.
