Oct 17 update is at the end of this thread.

Updated September 27 after the Chicago game.

The league rules...
  • A player is fined and suspended one game after accumulating 5 Yellow Cards.
  • After the first suspension, additional suspensions occur after Yellow Cards 8, 11, 13, 15, 17, etc.
  • If a player appears in 5 straight games without a booking, he gets one Yellow Card knocked off. That reduction can be used three times.

It is shocking we not only didn't win this race, but 4 teams beat us. Our YC accumulation must have really slowed down.

Well, Ring has fallen off his early season pace, when he got 4 yellow cards in 7 games. He hasn't gotten any in the last 3.

One more area where the team has failed to keep up with its early season performance.

Speaking of Ring, how hilarious was that when Blessing was dancing past three guys in the midfield and Ring just shouldered him down to stop the play.

Last year they raised it from 3 games to 5, but you no longer have to be 1 card from suspension to qualify. So if you have 3 cards, and go 5 games without incident, you go down to 2. Before last year that was worth nothing until you were on 4 cards (or 1 away from one of the additional suspension mileposts).

Don’t worry we won the red card race earlier this year.

Chanot game 1 vs SKC. 1st Red of the season.
Oh, I was thinking in terms of some sort of accumulation, but this makes sense. There is no red card accumulation. First one means first send off and suspension.
But now just to be a total canoe I'll point out there were 4 red cards that weekend before Chanot.

Why do I get the feeling that Ring and Herrera are going to manage to get their next yellow in the same game so they are suspended for the same match?

Against Colorado to miss the game against Houston away and clear the decks for ORL-ATL-TOR all at home, hmmmm?

I'd rather have them away at Houston than home against Orlando!

Besides, the Precious only has 2 games left for a reduction. He either gets through the next two and is good to go, or he misses either Houston or Orlando and is then good to go.
